| Hi Jette,Really like No2 . I guess the first is less a male oriented subject?? The Last Pearl's subtle and very sensory. I would like to see the original. I know my work never looks as good as it does in my studio...I want to put some new ones up that have been hidden away for 5-6 years no one has seen them...Later,Charlie |

| After reading your description of a few of your pieces, I was surprised to realize my perception of the piece with the glass eyes, dentures, and hearing aide was not what you were conveying. Still, it was interesting to see the difference between what you were saying and what I got from it. |

| I love the three items you have here, very clearly brining over the meaning and symbolism of losing parts of oneself, the physical parts. In so doing, it can also get the viewer thinking of the other parts that begin to go missing, the memory and the thoughts of old memories that were dear. --The semi-sweet smell and feel of death and decay as we lose things that are naturally a part of us. |

| This one in particular is a very clear depiction of the opposite idea of babies and "war". It can easily get the viewer to think about the contrast and how it's not good for them. I also think of the same thoughts that go through just about any potential parents' mind, "Is it really good to bring a baby into a world like this?" |

| I like how your work in this album is very simplistic in presentation. It really focuses on the beauty of the individual item(s) or really points out the message being made. |

| I read your paintings as modern "vanitas".
Your mastery of representation is obvious, however, what adds real "depth" to the image is the undercurrent of allegory, and this is the paradox which makes your images so relevant to me: as much as they are highly accomplished descriptive paintings, they are, in fact,
embodiments of thoughts, thoughts made visible,( thoughts that have color texture and cast a shadow ) and encrypted warnings,
always solitary against a black background as if spotlighted on a projected mind stage. |

| Hi Jette, What you do to textures is amazing...the compositions also are singular and remarkable...when I look at your work and I can hardly get past the rich surfaces but its the juxtapositioning of the objetcs that moves me to the deeper meanings....you are an orator in oils. Much blessing.Charlie |

| As usual, Jette, you push the envelope not only of trompe l'oeil but of juxtapostion of elements...The color the velvety black and the image shapes all work to produce striking portraits of self-awareness. I know your work is a form of social realism as you embrace what you see in the real world not deny it. It is amazing what you do with these common material forms. Bravo. Encore.Charlie |
