| STATEMENT |
|
|
This is my story.
Inspired by the fundamental Darkness in life and the full enlightenment off all entities driven by the grace of the occult, misty powers across the shadow of the world.
My work is about a trans-expressive generation living in bus stations, in empty spaces on the invisible frames and cracks in the walls . Where things are constantly moving and changing positions. Like walking around in the Urban cities, watching how the people dress up and dress their hair. I try to catch a glimpse of the recent or less recent past ,the near imperceptible transcendent future time .
But I never even make an intention to incorporate what I see extended on the street's billboards, in the showcases, in movies, or on TV's extraordinary compositions.
I always try to let things happen and continue. Even though the unsettling results are contentious, innovating the good reasons . Feeling like a surfer that is riding on the wrong waves.
A fundamental human transformation experiences spiritual , political and social Phenomenology.
Referring to a web of symbols, images, facts and thoughts,the works made today are not to be easily deceived.
Each work is foremost a family member or a friend, a political situation, a dream or something that interested or made sense to me.
It's about high and low emotions on a feeder road. The beetles' legitimacy not so visible to us, still they have been erupting this earth for over a million years and are still here, embraced by a huge project that may have been started when the Gods and Goddesses came down to us in the old Egypt and Sudan. I think of ways that only Voltaire could have explained to us. The shadow of the stars in resistance,something you will encounter and search for nowadays.
Exploring the many aspects and conditions of mankind, I'm asking myself the same naive questions in the days of abnegation wars. Such as why west and east cannot come together? Why were the Elves and the Horses , the Dwarfs and the Trolls, not lined-up but standing next to each other?
I seek to capture the personal essence of my models, making it fit in to my subjects in a day out of time. Trying to bring out their inner conditions and state of life. Characterizing their emotional sides, high or low, and bring it to the center. Minus what it is supposed to reveal to my concept, to fill up and complete my Universe. If that could be a reason, for me it is important.
I like to use the questioning technique of a philosopher. To get answers for new ways of expressive thinking,and about new future theories disagreed. Reducing the cold wind to come in and develop distraction.
I reinvent myself in terms of whichever relationship I'm involved in ,without a pen and paper, I'm not here. That I have realized now, 4 years after loosing my left eye. Having only one eye makes me firm, it is sufficient to work with little options and feel responsible for things that I believe in.
Being in the need for shared experience in art does not form a reaction. It is the strives that reveals the essence and make the subject breath.
This journey has for me been not to underestimate the power of contagious enthusiasm that eventually crystallizes itself in this direction.
The figurative works,including all types of styles and techniques, finally shows codified behavior. As an artist in a relationship to or with his work, committed to a spirit that is playful, childish and naked sometimes. That makes me a little more bitter-sweet today.

| BIOGRAPHY |

I fell down from the sky on to the Caribbean island of Curacao in November 1969 breathing on cold fire, water and wind.
Aged seventeen I went to Holland. In fact I cry stealing blood of the history. A child breaking his waves.
After Architectural drawing studies at Technology College, I started getting more and more into Furniture and Interior design.
I got a temporarily job in Museum Booymans-van Beuningen in Rotterdam, where I got inspired while working as a stand builder on exhibitions of many great artists like Cindy Sherman, Jorg Immerdorff ,the Impressionist painters and many more of their collection. Then in the fall of 1997,
I went to the art academy Gerrit Rietveld in Amsterdam.
In the summer of 1996, I went to visit the ex Yugoslavian countries after the war. That trip changed me extraordinarily. My work engage with these times on every level, as good as an abstract love story, a revenge or immensely moving exquisite warning colors stuck on the canvas.
One eye stare at you with a sharp and fatal light that hit me four years ago. On 6th of March 2004, I had an eye infarct and lost one eye.
I'm a human being and I kill ghosts. And I do that when I'm channeling a demon in a tape recorder. The truth is still the truth while I'm making art. The evidence is therefore limited. A lack of consensus, however a pattern emerge and the voice on the tape is death's ugliness- hopeful ,sleepy in bed. But the summer clouds burned off like the forest marriage and ended his diplomatic career.
I love diving and surfing since I was young. |
