BIOGRAPHY
Born and raised in rural Virginia, Roland's scenic and natural surroundings played an integral role in the development of his art. In 2001 Roland graduated from the University of Virginia, and went on to continue his art education at Cranbrook Academy of Art. After earning his M.F.A. in 2005, Roland moved to Brooklyn, New York to pursue a career in art. His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries both nationally and internationally. He has also been the recipient of several grants and awards. When not in his own studio, he works as a draftsman for the late Sol LeWittt, traveling and installing wall drawings at art institutions throughout the country.
