BIOGRAPHY

French painter, born in 1980 in France, living in London.
Studied History of Arts for 2 years in Paris. Her move to London in 2000 has proved a significant turn, as she was surrounding herself with various artists of the British Art and Entertainment Scene. Music and Film had always been a very important element of her life, but only once she moved to London did she start to translate it in various artworks, as well as the recurrent theme of pain in human beings. Her early works are figurative, and very much inspired by the works of Francis Bacon. In the last 7 years, her works became more and more abstract. It wasn't a conscious decision but a new way to express herself and discover new media, and convey new themes, leaving behind for the time being, the earlier theme of pain and suffering.Virginie has just exhibited in a group show about Peace, at London trendy Brick Lane gallery amongst other up and coming artists. Currently working on her next exhibition, booked for the end of 2007 in London, "Mon Cinema": a combination of installation pieces and paintings taking the audience on a journey throughout her experiences and influences of the Cinema.
