BIOGRAPHY
Lee Schaefer, a native Californian, developed her love for art as a teenager in the San Gabriel Valley. Lee still resides in the San Gabriel valley community of where she and her husband reside.
In 2000, Lee, found the median of her dreams in glass and wire. As she puts it, glass has all of the elements of texture and color I was looking for. Her projects range for simple paper weights to a wall of glass in her home. Her glass cabochons adorn the necks of many local women and her art pieces decorate homes across the country.
She loves to create drama by controlling the texture light source of the composition. In her finished pieces, she wishes to show the viewer the beauty and texture and cool touch of kiln fused glass.
Lee enjoys sharing her passion for glass art and beading with children in and after school programs. A number of her students are now making and selling their own art items.
In early 2007, Lee was asked to join a group of elite glass artist in forming the Southern California Glass Guild, where she enjoys the exchange of techniques and exposure to new ideas. She also enjoys her participation in Artist Women Helping Artist Women, Pasadena, CA. and the CASD Gallery in San Diego, CA.
