BIOGRAPHY
Justin Lyons was born in 1979 in Central Florida, and at 19, he left to move to the Florida panhandle where he lives today with his wife and new child. As a self taught artist Lyons gained interest recently in 2004 when a friend introduced him to the vast world of graffiti and street art culture. He began experimenting with different techniques which led him to publicly display art installations on random street post and corners. Lyons has gone on to produce art-printed shirts, which have sold at various boutiques. He was also invited to show his work in Los Angeles at The Biscuit Loft, presented by Gen Art, among the works of well known artists such as Shepard Fairey and Gary Baseman.
His paintings and mixed-media take their inspiration from contemporary urban culture to rural everyday life, incorporating elements such as found objects, scrap wood, or metal. His style is produced from taking something found, old, or odd, and transforming it into a piece of work that is simple, rustic, and lively. His passions remain to be the simple things in life, which continue to be his inspiration for the art he produces.
