BIOGRAPHY
Cynthia Cole was born in Wilmington, NC, in 1952. Her work has been featured in several group shows throughout the United States, including the City Gallery of Chastain, Atlanta, GA; The Lieca Gallery, New York, NY; Gallery One Eleven, Birmingham, AL; and The Light Factory, Charlotte, NC.
Ms. Cole is a two time 1st Choice Pick for the Creative Capital Fellowship in the visual art category, received two Regional Artist Fellowships for NC Artists through the Hendersonville and NC Arts Councils and had work commissioned by Coca Cola International in Atlanta, GA.
Ms. Cole attended Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA where she earned her BA in 1993 and New York University where she earned her MA in Environmental Studies – Photography in the NYU/ICP program in 1996. She resides in foothills of western North Carolina in an intentional community, Adawehi, which was founded to offer various methods of healing to the larger community.
