BIOGRAPHY

Lisa Higby LeFevre was born in Iowa. She operates a studio where she cultivates an evolving body of work. Her paintings have been exhibited nationally receiving numerous awards. Lisa resides in Illinois with her husband, Bud LeFevre. They, along with partner, Jim Brown, own and operate Distinctive Gardens in Dixon, Illinois. She studied art at Marycrest College in Davenport, Iowa, graduating with honors in 1987. Since that time she has worked in the commercial art, education, and horticulture fields, throughout which she has rigorously pursued studio work to develop as a painter. lisa, you have captured the essence of the midwest landscape and i like the shades of grant wood imbued in the fields. very nice combining of the abstact and representational. coming from cedar rapids, i found your paintings resonated with my memories of iowa and drives through illinois. continued success with the art and career. tobeyc .
