BIOGRAPHY
A native New Yorker Joanne Sullam has had a lifelong passion and appreciation for animals and nature, as a child growing up in Brooklyn, NY she had to be content learning about wildlife through books and television shows like Mutual of Omaha,
Wild Kingdom.
As an adult JoAnne combined this love of nature with her other passion art,sudying at The New York School of Visual Arts while at the same time, learning about animal behavior and husbandry, lead her to obtain a wildlife rehabilitator’s license, from which she gained a deeper understanding of animal anatomy and behavior. All of which brought her craft to a higher level.
Joanne has donated artwork and her time to The National Audubon Society at the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary in New York. Joanne also has worked as an animal handler, assisting Jim Fowler Of Mutual of Omaha ,Wild Kingdom was a realization of a childhood dream , a full circle moment.Working on the Today Show and Regis and Kathy Lee. As well as the Martha Stewart Living show alongside animal expert and longtime friend Mark Morone.
