BIOGRAPHY
Serena Perrone was born in St. Louis, MO and grew up between St. Louis and Sicily, where her father was born. She majored in Painting, Art History, and French at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. After college, she interned at Island Press, taught at St. Louis Community College, and traveled to Cortona, Italy where she continued to paint and make etchings. Upon her return from Cortona in 2004, she moved to Providence, Rhode Island where she completed her MFA in Printmaking at Rhode Island School of Design, where she concentrated on large-scale woodcuts and silverpoints. She is now an artist living in Philadelphia, and exhibiting throughout the country. Her works are in the permanent collections of the Rhode Island School of Design Museum, the Museum of Art at Smith College, and the Whitney Museum of American Art. Her multiples are currently represented by Cade Tompkins Editions.
