BIOGRAPHY
Terris Temple is the first Westerner to be trained in the art of Tibetan thangka painting nearly 40 years ago. His focused enthusiasm for this art form led him to teach first at Naropa Institute, then at Buddhist centers across Hawaii. As well as creating thangkas, he paints birds, flowers and landscapes on silks with mineral and botanical pigments. He is presently editing the Tsurphu Thangka video. This deals with his 1st project in Tibet, a 35 mt. ( 108 ft. ) silk brocade applique thangka for His Holiness the 17th Karmapa's Tsurphu Mo0nastery, with his wife Leslie Nguyen Temple.
