BIOGRAPHY
Born in Porto Alegre, Brazil 1971.
Aline Sofia began communicating as an artist, as a Brazil, when she was given the tools and the encouragement to draw by her mother, an architect.
Growing up painting and drawing was a source of pleasure and a way of expressing her vision of life. As a teenager, Aline attended the Centro de Desenvolvimento e ExpressÃÆÃâÃâ ââ¬â¢ÃÆÃ¢â¬Â âââ‰âÂ¢ÃÆÃââââ¬Ã
Â¡ÃÆÃ¢â¬Å¡Ãâão da Secretaria de Cultura, for 3 years, and subsequently was accepted at the Faculdade de Arquitetura da UFRGS, where she studied for the next 3 years. In 1996 Aline moved to Rio de Janeiro to explore opportunities a large city offered. She studied acting at Casa de Artes Laranjeiras, painting and drawing at Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage and at the Casa de Cultura Laura Alvim through 2002. Currently Aline divides her time between her atelier in Rio de Janeiro, and her studio near Chicago. The artist's work can be found in cities throughout Brazil including Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre, Belo Horizonte; cities in the United States including Chicago, New York, Milwaukee and Los Angeles and Uruguay, Italy, France, Portugal and Germany. Aline Sofia has work exhibited or collected by galleries, commercial businesses, restaurants and private collectors.
