BIOGRAPHY
Steve Riley grew up in the Willenhall, England. On leaving secondary school at age 16, he worked as a hairdresser for several years before attending Art school at UCE Birmingham, UK in 1991. As an art student Steve’s work evolved from painting, to jewelry and sculpture. Since graduating in 1996 with a degree in Art and Design, he has exhibited his work throughout the UK, won first place in a design competition for British jewelers ‘Clive Ranger’, and received a bursary from the Prince of Wales ‘Prince’s Trust Fund’.
Steve opened his shop in Bristol, UK in 2001, where he created everything that was sold. He moved to New York in 2003, where he creates both art and jewelry from his Brooklyn studio. Made to be worn on the body or hung on the wall, he creates each individual piece in a modern-primitive style
