BIOGRAPHY
Nancy Pirri (b. 1963) was born in Brooklyn, New York, and currently lives in Chicago, IL. She has dabbled in every art form since childhood, discovering clay to be her true passion in 1991. For the fifth year, she is represented as a House Artist at Studio B Gallery in Three Oaks, Michigan, and also Xanadu Gallery in Scottsdale, AZ. She exhibits at many different venues including charities, and even curates her own group shows.
Her work is about women and how they survive through time. She works in several different clay bodies utilizing techniques that result in 'aging' textures. Ceramic print techniques continue this 'antiquity.' She fires her work in atmospheric kilns including soda firing… transpiring her art further into history as if her pieces were buried underground for centuries.
