BIOGRAPHY
Hello, my name is Adam Roth-Caretsky,I'm 29 years old.My focus in life is my art. I attended school at the State University of N.Y. at Purchase College, and started off in Manhattan at The Fashion Inst. of Technology. I grew up in Northport, Long Island.I Graduated college in May of 2002. I lived in N.Y. a few years after college. I had some art shows, and was very productive with my art, but I needed a change.I was in California a few months and then moved here, to Las Vegas about 5 years ago. My art has characteristics of Abstract Expressionism, and Pop Art/Culture. Doing art, is the way I can release my visions, and the ideas inside me,and find out about myself. My different travels, experiences, relationships, and surroundings have a big impact on what I choose to create. When I complete something, it shows me the changes I went through, and the way I felt as a person/artist during that time.Thats what pushes me the most.My creative reactions to different life experiences. I earn money, and can be creative. Thats what I love so much. I have a lot of confidence w/ my talent. Painting, Fine art, sculpture, interior design, murals, contests, and commissions, is what I push for in life. When producing art, I try to use a style and/or a painting language thats unique to me. What ever I do, it should express my ideas, and reflect me, as a person.Thinking back, 1998, I went through a lot of changes artistically. My work and inspirations were changing. I was, and still am a huge fan of Jasper Johns, Bassquait, and Andy Warhol. Attending F.I.T. in the city, and then spending the summers in the Hamptons opened a lot of doors, allowing me to be very productive. During that time I was able to generate a good amount of acceptable work. I was getting inspiration from two, very different places. In N.Y.C. , the Chelsea Hotel is home to so many artists and creative people, one of which being Larry Rivers,The Ramones, and others. In East Hampton, there were artists like Peter Beard, and Julian Schnabel. I worked for them on several occasions, sometimes at the Andy Warhol Estate. Not long after, I spent two months in Spain. I made art, learned the language, and saw the work of Joan Miro, Tapies, Valazquez, and Pablo Picasso. All these experiences are behind me now, which brings my art, to were it is today, here in Las Vegas. A life in art is a hustle, but I live and breathe art, so I will accept nothing less, nothing! My most famous/recognized work is titled- 'Condiments on Canvass'.It has thousands of filled sauce packets/condiments stacked up and glued one by one, mounted on canvass. It took me 3 months, and its over 100 LBS of packets on canvass 36X52 inches, from 2004. I have a big family, my mother Valarie, my 2 dads Bill Caretsky , and Jeff Roth. My brothers Bret , PJ , Ian, Eric, and my one sister Brandy. My grandmother Angie lives here in Vegas, and she is one of my favorites.I wanna meet and show my art to more and more people,I hope you, - www.selfportrait.net/arcfoundation , SIXFUZZYBUGS@YAHOO.COM , My exhibitions; August , 2007, Commerce St, Naked City Ink Gallery.
