NAME: Wiebke Dreyer
BIRTH PLACE: Hamburg
BIOGRAPHY
Wiebke was born in 1973 in Hamburg and spent her childhood in a village south of Hamburg, at the edge of a big forest. This resulted in a need for nature alongside the pleasues of living in a big and cultural city, substituting her village forest with walks in Hampstead Heath, close to her home in north London.
The second great influence were the years Wiebke spent studying in Barcelona and south France, where the strong mediterranean light and colours had a profound impact on a northern person.
Beside being a very visiual person, she loves the written word, reading at least two books per week.
Music also played a big part during her growing up, starting with early musical education at the age of five and resulting in playing piano, recorder, flute, and a bit of guitar and drums. Music still plays a big part in Wiebke´s life as a source of energy and inspiration in the studio, in concerts and the opera.
She has travelled extensively since her teenage years, which left her speaking English, Spanish and French beside German, and with a passion for linguistics.
