ARTIST STATEMENT

It really is a shame about Heidi Elise. Deeply emotional and highly sensitive, Heidi Elise explores her self doubts, insecurities, and social awkwardness through a series of terrified characters. Locked forever in a dreamworld filled with: crow assassins, killer saltshaker, striped pathways, empty wine bottles and always clouds, clouds, clouds; the characters search for a way out, that keeps getting further away. Distant and haunting, wine soaked and clouded in smoke, blue skies never seem to shine like they should. Heidi Elise’s subject material, is dark, swooning, with subtle stabs at optimism. She has shown in numerous galleries in the San Francisco Bay area, and has made her mark as one of the few touring visual artists in America. Now residing in Portland,OR, Heidi Elise has enough rain coming her way to keep her satisfied for now.
