BIOGRAPHY
In 1984, I started a small literary magazine called Impetus, which I published out of my small press, Implosion. From there, I connected with numerous poets, writers & artists that have remained with me to today. In 1997, I opened a bookstore & art gallery in Kent, Ohio. cat's Impetuous Books specialized in small & micro press literary publications and showcased primarily local artists. Poetry readings, musical performances, workshops and gatherings were the norm.
In that same year, I co-founded the Womens Art Recognition Movement (WARM) after attending a Guerilla Girls presentation with Dr Molly Merryman, my co-founder. WARM has been showcasing women artists since its beginning and hosting an annual fundraiser at the North Water Street Gallery in Kent for 7 years. Proceeds are then donated to some local woman's organization.
My own photography has been exhibited in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Indiana. It has been on CD, magazine & book covers as well as featured within them. It was a background for many of the scenes in the award winning independent film, Jesus & Her Gospel of Yes.
