BIOGRAPHY
N.O. Oskar Holmberg is a photographer and sound/multimedia artist born in remote northern Sweden. He turned up empty-handed in Melbourne, Australia when he was nineteen to study at Photo- graphy Studies College as a way to get out of military conscription. He graduated with an Advanced Diploma in 2006, and also received an Industry Award for Research given out each year to one PSC student. In 2007 he commenced a BA of Fine Arts at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, majoring in Fine Art Photography, with parallel Sound Art electives. Aside of studying, he works part-time as a computer technician at the Bouverie family therapy centre (part of LaTrobe University) and also works casually for ACCA (Australian Centre for Contemporary Art).
Mr. Holmberg has been part of several group photography exhibition, nationally and overseas, and has work in private collections in Sweden, Australia, USA & Canada. He has been commissioned works in photography, sound, graphic design & web design by local and Sydney artists and businesses as well as the ABC. In 2006 he also started performing live around Melbourne in a group called The Truffle Pigs (formerly Piglife), focusing mainly on experimental noise music (or Future Music as they like to call it). They were reviewed in Beat Magazine to great acclaim.
