BIOGRAPHY

I was born and raised in Bialystok, a city located in north-east Poland. I owe it to my mother that my interests in visual art, theater, ballet, and literature had been introduced early in my life.
Soon after I left the totalitarian system and entered the USA (1983), I had become passionate about visual arts. Painting substituted my English language limitations. As time progressed, my involvement with "brushes" has evolved from simple means of communicating to wider arena of explorations. Creating is now essential part of my life in all respects.

oh krys, as always I thank you for your amazing words, and then always wonder "do I really measure up to that?" i am working feverishly now and will post more soon. but you do know, krys, that i feel equally that your work inspires me to feel deeply, it is deeply haunting, moving work. i hope I get to see it and you face to face some day! .

well thank you! the composition and color palette of many of your paintings has a great emotional resonance with me. Thanks for taking time to look at my work. .

sounds like the right interpretation...must be the new president! I tend to work in series and the previous one was based on stripping down as much as possible to study basic relationships between forms/backgrounds and muted colors. i was trying to keep the background on the same plane as the rest (as much as possible!. Doing that it made we look really hard at the surrounding space around forms (not as negative spaces but as active participant). Now I feel the need to explore the interlocking moments between spaces. and yes the work is decidedly more dynamic although I did not set out to do that...kind of a long explanation, but I do like to exchange ideas/concepts with you. Thanks! Carole .
