BIOGRAPHY:
My paintings are formed out of my impressions, observations and my emotional experiences I see reality as an endless process of conflicts and decisions, therefore the tonality of experience can never be resolved in a definite way. The texture of life is like the surface of a block of clay; it is shaped and molded by the circumstances of daily conflicts, personal and collective catastrophes and individual questioning. My work lives on this quest until it becomes a rite of realizations, a struggle for the possibility to order the sensation of consciousness.

BIOGRAPHY:
I love to create, and I invite you to explore my world of creations. Welcome to my gallery! Susan Isabella Sheehan has her own unique style of art and photography, mostly surreal and often times dark. Come journey with Susan as she explores the inner workings of the psyche, delving into the deepest hidden cores of thought. Visit different areas of the globe through her photographic images. Everyone has the ability to create, each person expressing in their own unique way, whether through traditional art, digital art, writing or spoken word. The tools vary from person to person, computers, pencils, brushes, etc. *Some Words From The Artist* When I was quite young, I was opened to a different shore, an altered reality, far beyond the norm of everyday life. I began expressing myself through art early on, capturing the natural beauty of the life around me on paper, delighting that I lived in the Arizona/Sonoran desert, rich in flora and fauna. I did not receive a formal art education, but rather I was self-taught, translating what I perceived into poetry and prose, along with pencil etchings and watercolors. It wasn't until after my youngest child had left home that I was introduced to 2D and 3D computer programs. It didn't take me long to fall in love with this medium of creating. I could explore so many different levels of art, from the more traditional landscapes to the very depths of surrealism. Being able to compose my thoughts and visions using a computer was, and still is, a delight and adventure on an everyday basis. Creating in this way is not so different from traditional art. Composition, placement, color balance and style are still very important parts of my digital work. Most of the time, I tend to work intuitively, as the energies move me, so to speak. My art is often dark and complex, with a Spiritual quality that has a tendency to emerge in almost every piece. It allows me to explore my own psyche, delving into my personal joys, passions, fears, and spirituality. Having the ability to explore and experiment without having to start over on a canvass has grand advantages. In addition to being a digital artist, I am an avid student of history and mythology, both of which often times emerge from the images I create. I love exploring thought and consciousness, and know that the potential of the human mind and soul are without limit. Welcome to my world. Visit my new "website":http://surrealdigitalartist.com/. It is a work in progress, so I would love to get some feedback from my fellow Bubblers! "It is a pleasure and delight to be a member of My Art Space, a vast community filled with endless potential and possibility!" Art Is The Perception Of An Altered Reality©

Amie McCarron
myartspace id:amccarron
BIOGRAPHY:
Amie McCarron is a full-time New Zealand contemporary artist specialising in contemporary and figurative paintings. After discovering a love of painting in early 2004 Amie decided to leave a successful corporate career in Web Development to pursue her dream of becoming a full-time artist. Amie has always had a strong interest in art and design having taken art studies during secondary school in Cambridge where she grew up. Primarily self-taught, she has attended numerous painting workshops with New Zealand artists allowing her to discover and express her own unique style. Amie now works from her home studio in Petone, Wellington and has won an Art Award and has featured in the media. "The reason I paint is simply because I love the act of painting itself. It is important to me that my art has a positive quality and brings pleasure to the viewer." Amie paints intuitively preferring deep rich colours to create pieces that exude warmth and create a sense of calm, serenity and romance. Her style shows versatility and has an exploratory feel as she primarily produces contemporary landscapes or pieces incorporating elements of New Zealand nature and figurative works highlighting the beauty of the female form. Amie’s preferred medium is acrylics on high quality handmade stretched canvas frames. Establishing herself in a very short time, Amie's work is now held in private collections across New Zealand and the UK. After a number of group exhibitions and a successful first solo exhibition, her original paintings can be seen in numerous art events and galleries across New Zealand. Many of Amie's paintings are sold over the internet so make sure you visit her website www.bluebubble.co.nz and view the gallery.

BIOGRAPHY:
Having moved out to the southern end of California's central valley "for a year" over 14 years ago, I actually gave up drawing all together for 6 years once I was hired as an illustrator for a furniture store. Hence, how I got into graphic design.
I am self taught as a graphic artist, with 13 years experience, and have won several awards from the California Newspaper Associate throughout the years for some of the ads I have created.
Now to find that gallery and big break in the art world before I get to old to forget how or why to draw. Ahhhh... an artist's nightmare! To lose the passion of his craft is sure to kill an artist faster than anything! The following is the description to a book I have put together on my pencil drawings as well as the look for further information and how to: Pencil Drawings - A look into the art of David J. Vanderpool For the first time ever, this 162 page collection of black and white pencil drawings is now available for order - featuring an added bonus of some of the artists favored drawings from the last few years. "Pencil drawings - a rare and often over-looked art form in today's art scene. This collection of masterfully crafted graphite pencil drawings shows the step-by-step process it took to complete over 26 dynamic drawings in less than a year. See the portraits develop and read the artist's thoughts and views on how he crafts each incredible work. This "journal style" book gives the reader unique insight into the creative mind of the artist and takes the reader on a journey from blank page to masterpiece." Lee Boyd

BIOGRAPHY:
I've always been interested in art, even as a small child. The paints and pencils were always out and art filled the fridge door on a regular basis. From the age of about 17, I decided that it was where my heart lay and attended an arts foundation at the in England. From there, I went to the where I specialised in Ceramics. Art has been a constant companion, I can't remember one single event that really stood out that made me think that it was the life for me. I think it's more of an accumulation of doodling in sketch books, scraps of paper drawing and painting things I could see and images that popped into my head. Having creative freedom is where I am now, I'm lucky that I can pick and choose the medium I want to work in, blending the subject matter appropriately to medium. I think from my college days, the biggest influences and impressions made on me were my peers, one thing about college is the innovative way people would discover new ways of creating work, that freedom is rare and sometimes undervalued. I've been to numerous exhibitions and in a way collectively they have all had an impact. When I left college, I became a Jewellery Designer in Southampton for a family Jewellers which led me away from Art as a career. As I became more confident in sales I ended up following a path in retail management. I think that break from art was good for two reasons 1) it gave me a keen grounding in business and the practicalities of running a business 2) the time away from Art made me hungry for it again. I came back to Northern Ireland and studied stonemasonry developing my stone carving skills along the way. At the end of that course I was invited to start teaching ceramics on a part time basis at which has afforded me the opportunity to start a business for myself. I can now paint, sculpt and draw for myself whilst taking commissions as they arise and have the joy of teaching students who are hungry to learn all that they can. I work mainly from home but I also have the resources of the college at hand when needed. I am looking into developing an arts cooperative in Northern Ireland where I live, hopefully sometime this year. It's a much under funded region and the Arts is slowly making an impact on the cultural landscape. There are some fantastic Artists and craftspeople here and their skills are undervalued and one aim is to strengthen our presence on the world's stage.

www.nomadiclens.com [+] reinventing the angle of vision nomadiclens is an online portfolio of a Bay Area photographer. It is a visual narrative and a discourse. The collection portrays life through the lens in a crescendo of colors and images, shapes and shadows, offering a luminous insight into everyday life. The rust on metal pipes, splintered wooden surfaces, the peeling paint of graffiti make up much of the palette. Movement, lines, color, and texture characterize the images. The commonplace takes center stage and is rendered beautiful. Reality transforms into abstraction. Narrow lanes taper off into uncharted territory, walls ring with voices of dissent, doorways have eyes that look into your soul, pictures of pictures tell a story within a story. The city rends its unrestrained, crowded horizon to reveal its obscure heart in minute details of the ordinary urban façade. In the process, the camera liberates the viewer by reinventing the angle of vision. John Kilroy
myartspace id:johnkilroy
BIOGRAPHY:
About John Kilroy graduated from The Art Institute of Boston, where he studied with Norman Baer and Walter Marks. Both these brilliant teachers had a deep historical connection to the Brandywine School and American Illustration, as they were both students of Harvey Dunn, a Howard Pyle student. Early influences on Kilroy were all the great artists involved with the Famous Artists School. He studied figure and landscape painting privately for 10 years with color master Robert Bliss, who was a student of Carolyn Wyeth. Kilroy is especially influenced by the teaching and art of modern master Richard Schmid, whose brilliant, adaptive, grand manner, alla-prima painting techniques and philosophy Kilroy took to heart. John is a member of Richard Schmid and Nancy Guzik painting group, The Putney Painters. He was also inspired to become a painter because of a small group of Taos/Denver artists active collectively in the 1970's. Among this group including Ned Jacob, William E. Sharer, Mark Daily, Len Chmiel, and George Carlson that really influenced Kilroy to open up to the idea of contemporary "Fine Art" impressionistic realism as a personal direction. Particularly influential is also San Diego artist John Asaro who gave Kilroy the knowledge of seeing light, color and the working understanding of sculptural form. A special thanks go to Washington State artist William F. Reese who, in the mid-eighties, got Kilroy to work outdoors, en plein-aire and taught him the essentials of the small sketch and continues to inspire with his excellence, integrity and generosity of spirit. His major historic influences include such masters as Joaquin Sorolla, Anders Zorn, John Singer Sargent, Valentin Serov, Ilya Repin, Nicolai Fechin, to name a few. John has been asked by The Scottsdale Artist School to give his slide/lecturer presentation on Joaquin Sorolla in May 2007 for their on going Creative Process Lecture Series. John Kilroy is a dedicated and popular teacher, his methods reflect the strong sense of responsibility he feels to pass on and improve what he has learned from his perception, studies, work and his artist colleagues. The essence of his artistic and teaching philosophy focuses on the "Live" experience and he incorporates accuracy of perception, combined with direct techniques in all media including music. Clear communication and design are essential as he stresses the effects of light on the subject. Executed both indoors and out, the main emphasis is on identifying the significant visual elements of color and structure translated through the particular media of the moment. This combined with classical, academic and abstract fundamentals of design, drawing, painting and sculpture form the visual language of the modern as well as the "old masters". John Kilroy advocates working from life, capturing the essence in his revealing portraits. Like many painters before him, he feels that every portrait, figure, still life or landscape offers the opportunity to evoke feelings of beauty, awe, reverence and character while maintaining the historic technical integrity of this distinguished craft. He has found over the years that his most successful works are those done directly from life and takes pleasure in passing on his reverence for art, "reality" and life to his students. He has years of teaching experience and has developed a number of programs through the years at numerous art associations, North River Art Society, Braintree Art Association, Quincy Art Association. He had taught at The Cape Cod School of Art, Provincetown, MA for many years before the unfortunate demise of the school. John had built an extensive weekly program at the Fuller Craft Museum incorporating all aspects of the craft of art; design, drawing, painting and sculpture. The Fuller Craft Museum will no longer be hosting any weekly classes of any kind. Most recently, John has opened his own school in Rockland, Massachusetts and continues to teach artists that wish to add a richer learning experience and superior content to their creative pursuits The class curriculum will continue to offer the interested learner an honest set of skills in a system which empowers while adding continuous growth potential for both the beginner as well as the serious professional artist. The John Kilroy Fine Art Academy offers the highest quality and most innovative educational services available at an extremely reasonable cost. Also, he continues to teach very successful national workshops at such distinguish venues as The Scottsdale Artists School, Scottsdale, Arizona and The Lyme Art Association, Lyme, Connecticut. Regional venues will also include Cape Cod Art Association, Barnstable, Massachusetts, Newport Art Museum, Newport, Rhode Island, The Creative Art Center, Chatham, Massachusetts and The Falmouth Artists Guild, Falmouth, Massachusetts. His works has appeared in American Artist Magazine. You can view John Kilroy’s work at www.johnkilroy.com contact: kilroy@johnkilroy.com or 781-925-0582

Dan McCormack

BIOGRAPHY:
I use the distortions of the oatmeal box pinhole camera and the digital colorizations to create a series of visceral images that probe the unconscious, stepping away from the literal reality and choosing instead to speak with a Jungian expressionism. Objects or places juxtaposed with the model trigger a response that I react to while colorizing. Through successive pulling of curves B&W values are replaced with color in separate channels that ultimately connect with the dreamlike state of the finished image. In 1998 I began to work with pinhole photography. Using an oatmeal box pinhole camera, I shoot 8x10 inch B&W film. With its extreme wide angle and distortion, the camera gives results that are constantly a surprise. I develop the B&W negatives, scan them into Photoshop, and then colorize the image. This imagery, rooted in 16th Century pinhole optics, juxtaposed with 21st Century digital print manipulations, is a hybrid of Photography and Digital Printmaking.

She graduated with a Graphic Design, Advertising and Public Relations degree from RMI-Berghs Professional University in Stockholm 1986. After a year of traveling she finally settled down in 1987 and started her own Advertising Agency, Ordovison (Word and Vision). With clients like Diners Club, IBM, Swedish National Road Administration, she soon expanded her agency and moved her offices to the Old Town in Stockholm. In 1991 she and her work team won the award for “Best Concept of the Year” (Catering and Hotel Branch). To broaden her growing interest in the Arts, Lena moved to Los Angeles in 1993 to attend California Arts Institute. The artistic climate in California and the multiplicity of cultures that co-exist there together strongly attracted her and allowed her to experience new types of media and visual expression. One such means of visual expression was sculpture. Her love and passion for sculpture immediately happened when she first put her hands on the clay, enjoying the visual tactile combination of elements. She went on to work as a sculpting assistant for Jonathan Bickart and during 3 years with him they completed a bronze monument of Col. Griffith J. Griffith that is 14 feet tall. Currently, it can be seen at the Los Feliz entrance of Griffith Park, Los Angeles. In recent years, Lena has put an increased emphasis on sculpture, design and photography: she names them her own Yin and Yang, as they all are equally important elements for her creative flow. In 1999, when she got the news that her best friend in Sweden, (age 35) was diagnosed with breast cancer, the very same day she was also asked to donate some of her talents to The Denise Roberts Breast Cancer Foundation in Los Angeles, a foundation that focus on minority groups and women under 40. Believing there is no coincidences, Lena never hesitated, and today the collaboration with the foundation has resulted in a whole new look and a logo based of one of her sculptures. The piece reflects the passion and inspiration of the artist. This Bronze Sculpture, also in limited edition, is created and produced specifically for the benefit of TDRBCF and is being offered to the public. Today Lena runs her own Design and Photography Business that expands over 2 continents. With the help of the internet, a computer and her personal skills her work includes editorial, music & entertainment photography to work for newspapers and advertising firms in Stockholm, Sweden to Los Angeles, CA. Clients include MidLife Records, Adolf Fredrik Music School, Svensk Fjarrvarme (Swedish Heating Assoc), Sarnmark, Icebox Advertising and Samsung/Hartke. She is currently completing her self-produced Photography Book and an Exhibit titled, “The Sound Behind The Stars” incorporating the images of jazz legends George Duke, Bob James, Phil Upchurch, Stanley Clarke, Jean Carne and many others. This Exhibit promises to bring back all the elements that have made jazz photography a modern art form, and will be shown sometime in the summer of 2008.
