BIOGRAPHY:
Drawing is instrumental in my work, from sketching ideas to using colored pencil, pastels, and graphite as an application on the works. Also using, tinted gesso, acrylic paint and oil paint, I layer imagery letting bits and pieces show though. It was a natural progression for me as a painter to birth my characters into life with small sculpture and animation. Hand sculpting the characters from clay using the drawings and paintings as a reference, I now am also using the computer to animate the stories from my paintings. As with all of my work, there is a lighthearted curiosity, and silliness. I am rewarded however and amazed by how my subconscious mind continually communicates through the process of creating art.

BIOGRAPHY:
I began my artistic work as a graphic designer in the 1990's, operating my own design firm with clients throughout Colorado. At that time I also served for 3 years as president of the Berthoud Arts and Humaniites Alliance, lending support to other Colorado artists. In the recent past, preferring a new direction from commercial expression, I have begun to devote my talents to subjects with personal meaning, and my work now reflects a passion for inner examination. Dream images have captivated my imagination and provide an unending source of inspiration for my paintings. It is my desire to express the mystery of the psyche's inner world and the power of dreams to impact and change our lives. In the year 2000 I was invited to be the Attending Artist to the International Conference on the Fantastic in the Arts, held in Ft. Lauderdale FL, and my dream paintings were featured in the 2001 Association for the Study of Dreams' conference presentation, "Dream Odyssey Art Exhibition—A Closer Look," in Santa Cruz CA. My recent painting, "Fall Into Fear" received a Nancy Richter Brzenki Dream Art Award in 2007, at the IASD's conference art show at Sonoma State University , CA. I currently have a regular column in Dream Network Magazine featuring Dream Inspired Artistry, and my artwork and articles also appear regularly in IASD's Dream Time magazine. I am certified for professional dream work through the Marin Institute of CA.

Artist Statement Foot for thought… we are all the same where our soles touch the earth. I never set out to make footprints. It started innocuously at the birth of our first grandchild, then became a renascence as a spiritual quest. Where do our feet take us on this journey through life? Soles, souls; heel, heal; words and images….double entendre leads the viewer beyond the obvious to deeper introspection. Each of us is different, yet each is the same. Each leaves a unique footprint on this earth. Small, smooth, curled in infancy. Calloused, wrinkled, withered as we age. Just as our life is mirrored in our face, it is also reflected in our feet. Regardless of how we color, distort, or manipulate our soles, we remain eternally connected to each other by our souls. Footprints remind us of the imprint, great or small, that we each leave behind.

BIOGRAPHY:

BIOGRAPHY:
Sohan Jakhar, an enthusiast young artist, representative of true Indian spirit with globalization through his work of art.He was born in Sikar (1978), Rajasthan and now working in Mumbai & Jaipur. Meanwhile he has done his Master degree in painting from Rajasthan School of Art, Jaipur and Diploma in Advance Computer Art from Bangalore. Sohan has one solo shows in Dubai and two in Jaipur along with nine group shows in his account, including Sunjin Gallery, Singapore. In his art journey he has received many awards from Rajasthan Lalit Lala Akademi and other renowned art trusts. He uses his skill to address his personal relations as well as the ones he has with ancestry. The decorative motifs floating in the background come from the painted fresco on the Havelis (Mansion) of Sekhawati, a home town of the artist, where he has spent his childhood. Along with this impression of motherland, the impact of latest technology can be seen in his paintings, As he has a good command on the computer art software’s. He use his technical skill to explore his paintings, sometimes he choose a photographs or images from mass media and simplify the same through computer, then he implement the modified image with his specific treatment of layered acrylic colours. The layered acrylic colours illuminates the space with their vibrancy and this help the artist to express himself. He uses the photographic reference, but not to recorded a physical phenomenon in the outer realm or to realize a certain aesthetic value, rather as a tool that is used to look into himself. His works consists of liberating the subjects from the properties they have in the world of reality. It means that these subjects are given at the some time new characteristics that they did not previously have in the real world. It is most definitely an arduous task to relate the phenomenon of mind through images. If photography has been chosen as the medium despite that fact, the task must be accomplished through some other special method in his case, it consist in first discarding the conventional notion of photography in order to obtain answer to the question of who is he. He must dissect himself to find the true essence that does not let him change with time. He says there are infinite possibilities in three-dimensional expressions that are beyond the two dimensional movements that transcend stillness, a medium of sound and light or a combination of these elements. Sohan Jakhar’s works encore the sentiment of bygone. They are simple and clear resonance of various complex emotions that accompany the journey of experiences.

I have had no formal training unless you count drawing/painting classes at the community college. I have drawn most of my life with long pauses. I began drawing a little over 1 year ago when my best friend passed away suddenly. I was looking for an escape from the sadness I felt and began to draw. I love to work with all mediums. My primary choice right now is pen & ink, pencil and colored pencil. I keep a scetch book with me all the time and draw anytime I can.

Romantic Expressionism (RE). Romantic Expressionism is a complex way of combining some characteristics of impressionism, surrealism and traditions of the "Old Masters". There is a desire to penetrate into the mysteries of the Universe, and attempt to depict such abstract notions as multidimentional space, to reflect on the idea of time - from the Past, through the Present, to the Future; to show existing and nonexisting; to connect to the Art Energy of the Universe; to exist in many Parallel Worlds at the same time.

Personal Store:http://www.nyaxe.com/DonnaBernstein/
BIOGRAPHY:
Donna Bernstein is a native New Yorker and natural artist. When in high school, she held her first one-woman show in the lobby of a local theatre. She arranged it with the manager directly, hung the art, and sold three pieces. Her lust for art was born. She studied privately during the summers with artist Robert Dash in the art colony town of Nyack, New York; expanded her art studio and art history studies in college, worked in advertising, graphics and real estate, always continuing to draw and paint from life and her surroundings. This was supplemented with studies in Japanese ink work and brush techniques. After moving out west in 1998, she ramped up her art career and began marketing throughout the country, expanding her style and techniques, including working in clay and sculpture just eight years ago. After many years of studying the equine form, working in clay was second nature to her; a piece she designed for the National Ability Center of Park City, Utah is in its permanent collection, and another piece has been chosen to grace the desk of the governor of the great state of Idaho. Today she is drawn to abstract and contemporary expressions, her own style combining brilliant, vivid colors, dynamic forms, suggestive gestures and timeless subjects. Whether using a combination of brushes, breyers, plaster knives or her own two hands, her style is unique, creative and modern. "MOST RECENTLY, DONNA HAS BEEN HONORED WITH THE PLACEMENT OF HER CONTEMPORARY EQUINE SCULPTURE, "GOSLING", IN THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE AT THE STATEHOUSE IN BOISE, IDAHO. The piece sits handsomely on the Governor's desk."

BIOGRAPHY:
My name is Douglas Adcock. I am 28 years old and I live in Rockford, Illinois. I specialize in fine art, murals, illustration, and graphic design. Some of my most recognized local works are the murals painted in Don PabloÂ’s Mexican restaurant in Rockford IL. In 2005, I designed and painted two sock monkey statues for the "Sock Monkey Madness" festival. Statues were displayed throughout the Rockford area and the concept was meant to mirror the famous Cows on Parade that were displayed in Chicago. Several artists were involved and a total of twenty statues were created. My designs were recently published in the new magazine Rockford Life. Other works have been published in the coffee table book Art Rockford which is currently available at Barnes and Noble bookstores in Rockford, Illinois and surrounding areas. Once and a while I can be found at local events or festivals doing caricature. I find weddings to be the most fun when doing them. People line up even during the toast. I think it's hilarious.
