| BIOGRAPHY: |
| <a href="http://www.kristenmargiotta.com/"><img src="http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j180/krsmargi/myspace-banner.jpg" align="center"></a>
Kristen Margiotta was born in Delaware, the first state, in December of 1982. She grew up attending private schools in the city of Wilmington, a city filled with old buildings, iron gates, and history. Her father moved to the States from Italy, settling in this city where there is a prominent Italian popluation. She was witness to how hard her parents worked, and Kristen's family contiues to be an inspiration for her perseverance in establishing her art carreer.
From the time she can remember, Kristen loved to draw and color. Growing up, she displayed an interest for creepy children's books and cartoons, Halloween, and dressing up. Kristen began to seriously pursue her art carreer in high school, focussing on drawing and pen and ink. She hated painting. Kristen decided to apply to the Art Department and the Visual Communications Program at the University of Delaware, where she was accepted through the twp competative application periods to see through her education at this university. She concentrated on Illustration and was one of the first to cross over to Fine Arts at the same time, taking Painting classes for 3 years. Kristen was priveleged to study with some of the best Designers, Illustrators, and Painters, both at UD, and study abroad in London.; David M. Brinley, Peter Williams, Satwinder Sehmi, Carrie Ann Baade, Alan Fletcher, just to name a few.
From Middle-School to her Junior year of college, she drew and painted her dark imagery in a realistic style. Kristen is influenced by the Old Masters, especially Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Durer. After her trip to London in 2004, a new style emerged where Kristen was fusing imaginary and strange worlds with realistic painting techniques. Kristen illustrates these creepy and innocent characters, yet utilizes the rules of value, and lighting. She explores experiences and feelings that all people can relate to such as loneliness, isolation, and fear. People always ask "wow, what was your childhood like growing up?", which is amusing everytime. For the most part, it was positive, but she definitely had some tough experiences that most people have to deal with. She feels that by exploring and acknowledging the bad, goodness and stregth can from it.
Within her first year of college graduation in 2001, Kristen was published through Delaware Today Magazine's 2006 Artist Calendar and accepted into the annual juried exhibition: DE Women's Conferance Fine Art Exhibit. Since then, she has been the featured artist at a variety of art events, and held her first solo show in Spring of 2007 in Wilmington, DE. Kristen was granted a solo show through the Delaware Division of the Arts for Spring of 2008 at the Mezzanine Gallery in Wilmington.
Kristen also makes and sells hand made merchandise such as t-shirts, handbags, books, stickers, prints, etc. . .an idea she began to explore in college. Kristen is currently building her online store to sell her merchandise, and is also pursuing children's book illustration, novelty designs, and gallery events.

| My sculpture is a reflection of me. My thoughts, emotions and experiences are all visible in my work.
I work predominantly in wood. I have found that the grain, color and texture of wood seem to infuse life into my pieces. I use wood symbolically. As a child, I often found solace in the woods behind our house. I have always found God in nature and my work reflects that. For example, I use vines to symbolize love, growth or the passage of time.
Sometime the figures are realistically rendered and other times, they are abstracted to the point that they appear more as curvilinear shapes.
My work deals with the human condition from the female point of view. It has a sense of emergence, of a coming into one̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s own. It is about discovery. As I work more, I discover more about myself and hope that as the viewer looks at my work, they discover something as well.

| BIOGRAPHY: |
| Wiebke was born in 1973 in Hamburg and spent her childhood in a village south of Hamburg, at the edge of a big forest. This resulted in a need for nature alongside the pleasues of living in a big and cultural city, substituting her village forest with walks in Hampstead Heath, close to her home in north London.
The second great influence were the years Wiebke spent studying in Barcelona and south France, where the strong mediterranean light and colours had a profound impact on a northern person.
Beside being a very visiual person, she loves the written word, reading at least two books per week.
Music also played a big part during her growing up, starting with early musical education at the age of five and resulting in playing piano, recorder, flute, and a bit of guitar and drums. Music still plays a big part in Wiebke´s life as a source of energy and inspiration in the studio, in concerts and the opera.
She has travelled extensively since her teenage years, which left her speaking English, Spanish and French beside German, and with a passion for linguistics. |

| BIOGRAPHY: |
| BRENDA GALE WARNER
Brenda believes she was ‘literally’ born an artist. From her beginnings in Hamilton, Ontario art has always been her preferred ‘voice’. In fact, it is the art and drawing that Brenda vividly recalls from her time in kindergarten. Then, as she grew, while she was very successful in all of her academic pursuits, it is in the fields of Arts and Drama where she particularly excelled. Mr. Webb at Highview School saw this in Brenda and helped to cultivate her love for the arts.
Primarily a ‘self-taught’ artist, Brenda also acquired her formal techniques - and honed her skills and talents - in artists’ studios. One of her early career incarnations, in the 1980’s, was in interior and furniture design in an exclusive design gallery in Toronto. But it was her involvement with the Art Gallery of Ontario - as a docent in the Elementary Education Department - where she again learnt to see the world through the eyes of a ‘child’, which Brenda found both rewarding and enlightening.
“I describe my art as Simple,” explained Brenda, “I try to approach complex ideas and emotions and make them easier to understand and for me, painting has always been simpler than verbalizing these expressions.”
Brenda’s life has been one full of triumph and tragedy - of motion and emotion. She has suffered great personal losses and achieved high personal successes. Her art is her articulations of these milestones. But, it was when she began to work with large canvases that she discovered Expressionism and found another ‘voice’ for her thoughts and feelings. Brenda’s paintings encapsulate the full palette and tactile spectrum: from monochromatic to colourful, from textural to reflective and from sparse to compounded and complex.
Brenda has travelled throughout Europe and lived across Canada and in the United States. However, it was her time in Manitoba - with its wide-open spaces, wildlife and natural features that opened Brenda up to the art of photography. Working in sepia and black and white she likes to get ‘up close and personal’ to her subjects and ‘capture’ their vitality.
“I can be inspired by a word, a phrase, a place – a change in my life. I just live and breathe wherever I am – and sometimes I just need to put it on canvas or catch it with my lens” described Brenda.
Brenda’s works can be found in Corporate, Public and Private collections across Canada - including on Calgary’s ‘Golden Mile’ where two Paintings are on display. She has had several shows in New York City and Rome – where she just won one of the Top ten Exquisite Expressionists, Women who Paint by Artrom Gallery.
Now residing in Ottawa where her palette has come ‘alive’ she has just opened Ottawa’s newest Contemporary Art Gallery Galerie 240.
The City of Ottawa is now in possession of four of her pieces.
One called "One Poppy" a tribute to our servicemen and women, graces banners on Rideau Street from Sussex Drive to King Edward Blvd. This will be included in the Remembrance Day Ceremonies 2009.
Three other paintings promote Art and Culture in the Downtown Rideau Arts District. These paintings have been enlarged to 5X their original size and will be auctioned to support the continuing encouragement of young artists in Canada.
