ELLE NICOLAI
myartspace id:ELLENICOLAI
BIOGRAPHY:
ALCHEMIES OF THE TRANSVISIBLE www.ELLENICOLAI.COM Elle Nicolaï is an artist of the spirit dedicated to healing and transformation through transcendental art. She translates what is seen through the Inner Eye, by taking dream-images and meditational-glyphs, then placing them in our 3-dimensional reality, for us to see. Ancient, shamanic as well as tribal symbols and aesthetics appear in her visionary art to manifest her intention. Natural archetypes, in her glyphic images, along with the use of light and color, in her dancing forms and lines, help the viewer feel, reflect, and expand consciousness. These “Alchemies of the Transvisible,” as Elle Nicolaï refers to them, display intuitive dream art steeped in a universal language of animatism and sacred geometry... the way of the shaman. It is through a synthesis of ancient and modern abstraction that her meditative art works gain their emotive prowess. In her digital photography, she reveals Ephemeral Light Impressions. These ethereal images present Light Energy presence, captured in a moment of existence. They may help penetrate through the depths of mind, and open channels for contemplation… peace… and also empowerment… toward uplifting of consciousness. She views the birth of her spiritual paintings, works on paper, and photography as an organically transducing occurrence. She explains, “The transformative process integrates the esoteric artist as the pathway for the spirit (or energy) of creation itself and the viewer as observer, both participants altered by a spiritually infused artistic composition.” Her interest in this interplay reflects the transpersonal theme that forms the undercurrent of integral art. In this transmutation of spatial harmony through inter-dimensional correspondence, her cosmos of creation embraces a non-referential time/space continuum. DREAM ART. SPIRITUAL ART. VISIONARY ART. BIOGRAPHY:
It was in the wooded garden behind my grandmother's house that I developed a deep appreciation of the ancient earth and those things that remain of seasons past. My art is a means of communicating the understanding I've gained through the observation of and participation in the natural cycles of the land. It was in the world of story—old tales of the wood, of wolves and witches and princes who turn into frogs—that I found a desire to tell my own small tales. My writing is a means of spinning straw into gold, of pulling life's dross through the eye of the fantastic and sewing it up into stories, much liked those that I was once told.

Jim Rennert

BIOGRAPHY:
I sculpt representational bronze figures. My recent work depicts contemporary businessmen in competitive situations. JIM RENNERT Jim RennertÂ’s most recent work is a series of bronze sculpture focusing on the competitive nature of business. He sculpts each piece and casts all of his work in his home studio. After sculpting in clay, he makes molds and creates waxes, then casts the work in bronze through the lost wax method. About his work, he says, In this sculpture series, parallels are drawn between the psychological struggles faced in business life and more physical confrontations. I believe business has become, for many, the sport of a lifetime . . . My initial concept is based on my own experiences in business. I believe the work is meaningful to those who share these experiences. I have sympathy for my characters and try to treat their struggles with a sense of humor. My work is representational and figurative, and often explores a narrative. The potential for movement, the characters, and their interactions are important considerations. I am often inspired by presentations of contemporary life found in movies and commercial art. In my work I use traditional methods to express contemporary themes. In 2006, RennertÂ’s work was exhibited in the Finch Lane Gallery, which is operated by the SLC Arts Council, Loveland Sculpture in the Park, Loveland, CO and International Show, Museum of Church History and Art, SLC. In 2005, venues exhibiting his work were Allied Artists of America, NYC; Contemporary Realism, NYC and Spring Salon, Springville Art Museum, Springville, UT. He recently received recognition by Sculptural Pursuit Magazine 2006 as a second place winner in their Journeys and Destinations exhibition. As a self-taught sculptor for the past 13 years, Rennert has garnered representation by five galleries in 7 locations: Coda Gallery, Palm Desert and New York City; Meyer-Munson Gallery, Santa Fe, NM; Cavalier Gallery, Greenwich, CT and Nantucket, MA; Hartman Fine Art , Ketchum, ID; Meyer Gallery, Park City, UT.

BIOGRAPHY:
www.FIDOSTUDIO.com As a painter I am interested in making the work of the soul more visible and real, enriching our everyday lives. It is in these moments when our soul speaks to us in a quiet, perhaps even a silent voice - wielding great power and influence at both a conscious and unconscious level. A primary role of my art is to provide clarity and insight into issues of soul as inherent elements of man's role in creation. As awareness and consciousness increases, so does the clarity with which we are able to perceive the exquisite beauty and wholeness of creation. Ultimately, art acts as both a mirror and a lens that gives presence and visibility to that which previously was unseen, unknown and not understood, often residing in the underground of the conscious. It is worthy to note that in this endeavor one learns that - the perception of all great beauty always has an element of "strangeness" and in its expression is an opportunity to truly know the perfection of all creation. Painting is a universal language and its truths are accessible to all who view an image regardless of culture, nationality, age, language or status in life. The paintbrush is a tool that crosses cultures, breaks boundaries and grants access and connections that are not available through any other means. In my work as a painter I seek expression and a deeper knowledge of these issues and in that pursuit a profound experience of being intensely alive. It is here that one’s life has resonance within our innermost being, knowing the intense rapture of life. By following our passion and our bliss and by being willing to enter the "underground", we find paths that have been there all the while, waiting for each of us. The life we live becomes the life we should be living and one has the opportunity to know the fire of passion and the continuing renewal of the life within. On this wondrous path, being an artist makes me become an instrument of story telling, spirituality, faith, seeing, knowing, exploration and celebration.

I was born in Latina, Italy, a province in the southern part of the region of Lazio, near Rome. I attended the "Artistic Liceum" there and then the "Academy of Fine Arts" in Rome. Then I began doing public shows of my paintings. I take painting as a matter of personal expression. Besides contemporary art, I've chosen to use simple tools such as brushes and canvas. Painting is like poetry to me, and as poetry is useful to express ourselves. What I'm trying to do is this. In the routine days, at times, it's like a window opening. I reach what I cannot express with words. I'm a curious person and I like mistery. I try to convey these feelings in my paintings. I don't like aestetical beauty in itself. Instead I prefer wondering about the meaning of life and loooking for it in the faces i've never seen before or objects we use in everyday life.

Luke Turner
myartspace id:thevoid99
BIOGRAPHY:
My large-scale portraits explore issues of the self and of depth, and question portrait photography’s capacity to offer authentic insight into a subject’s psyche. I am influenced by the early 20th-century Polish painter, philosopher and pioneering photographer, Stanislaw Witkiewicz, who remarked that perhaps the only revelation a portrait can offer may be attained through capturing "the expression of someone struck by the strangeness of existence”. The subjects, standing, pinned against a wall, are confronted with the wide lens of an imposing large-format camera at uncomfortably close range. The resulting image suggests both a degree of intensity and intimacy, often offset by the sense of detachment, self-contemplation and reflection that such an encounter provokes. Notions of beauty are also questioned, with the aesthetic qualities of the subject being flattened and contained within the pristine reflective finish of the aluminium-mounted photograph, suggesting the almost fetishistic reverence to which such a ‘perfect’ photographic object may be subject to.

BIOGRAPHY:
Sarah Harvey was born in London in 1981. She completed her education at Chelsea School of Art and Newcastle University, graduating in 2004. She has a studio at the Bow Arts Trust in East London. In 2003 Harvey won the Bartlett Travel Scholarship whilst studying at Newcastle University. She subsequently visited Florence and the surrounding areas of Tuscany, and it was during this trip she happened upon a green swimming pool that has inspired much of her work to date. "My paintings of figures floating are predominantly self portraits. I aim to create paintings that arouse both a sense of well being and pleasure, whilst simultaneously suggesting notions of insecurity, fantasy and sexuality. Entirely suspended by the water, the human forms are fragmented by the ripples and swirls created by the water, abstracting them, and often with implausible results such as the appearance of disfiguration or distortion. I have become increasingly excited about the abstract elements in these works, and the interplay between light, colour and water. The emerging patterns are becoming more apparent and dominant, drawing the eye not only towards the main focal point of the human form, but also to the surrounding areas, which are of equal significance. I am greatly influenced by Francis Bacon's Carcass and crucifixion paintings, and of course by the work of Jenny Saville. Both of these figurative artists are intensely intrigued by the imagery of flesh – in both ugly and magnificently beautiful ways."

Yeulmaus
myartspace id:Yeulmaus
BIOGRAPHY:
Born in 1980 in France. Has been drawing and playing music since childhood. The characters, who come to life through the dancing brush of Yeulmaus, tell enigmatic stories about searching for one’s own existence. His lively faces, portrayed by a unique stroke of Indian ink, are mostly self-portraits seized at various periods of his youth. Memories of his childhood, where a mythical universe inhabited his imagination emerged on paper. Yeulmaus evokes the spirit of south India (Pondichery), where he lived for five years. He was in contact with new philosophies and iconographies and sensitive to the strong spiritual expressions of the country, the popular art of Tamil Nadu as well as the tribal art of other provinces. This cultural immersion left an ever lasting imprint in his work. Today, it is as an urbanite that his art evolves, capturing the continuous vitality and energy of the city, along the line of graffiti and street artists. The graphic method remains demanding: to produce the most perfect and unique stroke, according to lessons of the Chinese monk Shitao. Thus, the brush will go to the root of things. Placed between American and Japanese underground comic books, traditional Nippon painting of Ukio-e, (Hokusaï, and Hiroshige) and Chinese calligraphy, the art of Yeulmaus remains influenced by various cultures. By circulating his drawings on the internet, he seeks to be confronted with an audience as vast as it is unknown. Nonetheless, a number of net surfers have already given his talent much praise.

Judith Roston Freilich
myartspace id:judithrostonfreilich
BIOGRAPHY:
Judith Roston Freilich has been working in Chicago since the early 1970s. At that time Alan Artner wrote, "[Freilich's]...pieces evoke an other-worldly atmosphere in which blobs become prophetic and rainbows commonplace. Their colors are faintly metallic; their shapes, interlocked and tension-producing or amorphous." The same organic images, with unique personalities and relationships, continue to evolve in her recent paintings and installation.. This new work continues to be cyclical and organic evolving not only from nature but from life’s experiences. The forms have distinct characteristics, appearing to live in infinite space and time. The paintings and installation reflect the images’ unique motion, rhythm, and potential for change. Their relationship to each other is peaceful and their reactions are spontaneous, free and often whimsical. Media is important in conveying the “personalities” of the images. I work on paper with acrylic and oil pastels because they allow me to work spontaneously as though I can actually feel the images. The pod-like forms in the installation begin with cotton batting that is stuffed until bursting. They’re coated with plastic and lined with plaster resulting in stretching, bursting and pulling. The organic bursting, tension and fullness is a sensation in the history of each form. Ms. Freilich is a graduate of the Washington University School of Fine Arts in St. Louis. She received a master's degree in printmaking under Misch Kohn at the Illinois Institute of Technology, and she has studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. Ms. Freilich is in the permanent collections of the Library of Congress, the First National Bank of Chicago, and Southern Illinois University. Her work is published in Soft Sculpture and Other Soft Art Form by Donna Z. Meilach and in The Chicago Art Scene. Ms. Freilich has had solo shows at the Illinois Arts Council, Ohio State University, The Ann Brierly Gallery, and The Rena Sternberg Gallery. Ms. Freilich's work has been shown at the Art Institute of Chicago; Deson-Zaks Gallery; Columbus Gallery of Fine Arts; Butler Institute of American Art, Ohio; Hunterdon Art Center, New Jersey;and Barat College, Chicago. Having lived in the heart of The Lake District all my life and having had regular visits to Scotland when I was working I had no problem finding inspiration for my subjects, My love of the countryside, mountains and water can be seen in my paintings. I still have a love of Watercolours but the Wet in Wet technique with Oils is a pleasant distraction but no doubt I will still wander back to Watercolours every now and then just to keep my eye in. I had been fortunate that my work for many years had taken me all over The Lake District and the west coast of Scotland, I had taken this opportunity to take photographs and sketches of all the many locations I had visited, as you can imagine spending many years travelling around this lovely area I saw it in all it’s different moods and built up quite a collection of material I can now fall back upon when inspiration fails me. website www.frazer-art.co.uk Please feel free to visit my website and signthe guestbook

When I left Maine I left for a decade, in one year of that decade I lived in 3 time zones. I was chasing the fundamentals of my vision through photography. Now it supports me and my family, most of the time.
