BIOGRAPHY:
erin antognoli was born in a small town in northeastern ohio, and raised in an equally small town in western pennsylvania. she realized from a very early age that she was not like the other girls. while her classmates were all joining the brownies, taking ballet lessons, and dressing up like fairy princesses, erin wanted to be a ninja assassin, started a bicycle gang, and lit things on fire. she was bound to go far in life. after completing college with honors and without getting kicked out, she got another degree in art, which in no way prepared her for the real world. she then married a guy who thought all the crazy things she did were endearing, and moved to the washington dc area. erin's main activities include creating and exhibiting artwork, spending time with her husband and their sasquatch (which the rescue organization swore was a dog), and conspiring new and exciting ways to take over the world. BIOGRAPHY:
Mike Panic, born August 1975, creator of VIVID POP. Mike Panic’s work reflects the continuing evolution of mass culture and its subversion at the hands of someone who refuses to accept what he is being spoon-fed on a daily basis. His primary influences are Pop Art as well as Russian Avant-Garde and Abstract Expressionism with a dash of humour and vigour. He said: “Art, apart from making us want to think deeper and conveying a message, can simply cheer us up. I believe that art should appeal to as many people as possible and form part of the cultural discourse of a society.” As a veteran of three solo and four group exhibitions in his native Greece, Mike is now keen to expand his horizons and bring his work to a wider audience. He is also one of four winners of a recent Dazed and Confused magazine competition entitled the ‘Make Art, Make Fun Of Art’ postcard competition. His winning entry, ‘Pop Corn’, will be featured in the April 2007 edition of the London magazine and in conjunction with the competition sponsors freedm2.com it will be made into posters and put on the streets of Brooklyn, New York as part of a FREEDM 'wild-posting' campaign. In addition, ‘Pop Corn’ and his installation ‘Since the Monitors’ were used in a prime time reality TV show as a comment on the contemporary preoccupation with image and vanity. His works takes the familiar, such as a simple computer monitor or branded food and drink packaging and makes it unfamiliar in a way which can reveal hidden gems of humour and a different slant on life.

Ilona Niemi
myartspace id:ilonatic
BIOGRAPHY:
My childhood friend Piia disappeared without a trace at the age of fifteen in 1988. Her memory is the main generator behind my works, in which I construct an imaginary environment reminiscent of childhood play but with a grown-up, psychological twist. Using traditional oil painting techniques, I depict faces of young women from my hometown in Finland, and surround them with candy-colors and rounded shapes. I select faces that remind me of Piia. Despite the initial impact of sweetness, my source materials are morbid: the biomorphic shapes are based on diatoms found in the bodies of drowning victims, and the colors are often abstracted from autopsy photographs. I hide the sinister beneath a sugary coating, mirroring the way in which child abuse often takes place behind closed doors. I am inspired by psychology, toys, candies and 1960s design. My favorite artists are Yayoi Kusama and Helene Schjerfbeck, whose high work ethics and independent spirit I admire. I am also influenced by Hieronymus Bosch, contemporary Japanese art and Karen Kilimnik. More than anything else, literature is my main inspiration, especially the writings of Angela Carter, Anas Nin, Marguerite Duras, Eeva Kilpi and Virginia Woolf.

Nicola Bettale

BIOGRAPHY:
Nicola Bettale was born in Schio -Italy- in 1978 where he currently lives and works. His artistic distance is anything but a traditional one.He approached photography in 2005 and since the beginning he develops a detached tendency to a formal and conceptual search through which he inquires the individual and collective aspects of contemporary society. His poetics turn out to be a mosaic rich of unique and special feelings where colours and stylizations recite harmoniously with each other. His works are non-conventional iconic landingplaces elaborated with a style which goes beyond photography. Observing his compositions we all can perceive something that passes over the visible and penetrates into the unconscious among metaphors, symbols and messages. "Photography - wrote Paul Costantini, a venetian student - concurs not to remain detained by the object, since through it the object lets to exceed towards an imaginary and mysterious dimension, a space where get lost".These amazing "photomosaics" encloseing the young author's considerations on contemporaneity, can deceive human mind with their intimate violence and built up an imaginary world where reflections are required.

BIOGRAPHY:
My love for photography grew out of a desire to capture the landscape of human emotion encapsulated in its raw, honest form, exposing the vulnerability of being human within the social confines of gender. As a mother of two girls, I am often transported to scenes from childhood. Childhood is the genesis of emotional expression. Through the media’s social manipulation, we are forced to adapt and inhale social gender norms. As we transcend into adulthood, our guarded emotional being is hidden from view, limiting our choices and denying us the diverse spectrum of gender. Through photography, I strive to create an awareness of the limited interpretations of gender and it’s emotional impact on those who do not fit into the social prescribed gender boxes. Enjoy the view! H.R. LoBue

BIOGRAPHY:
My work explores the in between what is considered normal and beautiful and what is not. I challenge notions of the visual, digital perception and traditional pattern-making and how people today access their world based on media, Internet and sensory experiences that make up their body’s stored experience. I employ juxtapositions of digital images, altered and new next to each other and the challenge of the human form doing things it may not be physically able to. The physical meets the object and much of the work transfers to pattern making and the mystery behind the focus in a textile format. I leave much open to the viewer to interpret what they see and try to explore the baggage they physically and mentally carry around in the process. I strive to project a new focus onto pattern images and provoke new meaning into the read.

BIOGRAPHY:
Maria Aminta Henrich Nonone

Luke STOFFEL (Artist - b. 1978 - Dubuque, IA) challenges the natural aesthetic and tradition of fine art within a digital age, merging dehumanized technological and modern graphic aspects with a variety of warm mediums. Stoffel has been commissioned for private collectors and galleries in the U.S. and Europe. Recent events include a solo show with “amFAR Rocks” at the Puck Building, a solo show at the Gallery at New World Stages on 49th St., the premiere AM New York’s “Art Rocks” event.
