| I have technically been an artist all my life, although I have not called myself one until these recent last few years. I simply partaked in art because of my fondness and passion for it. Now, I refer to myself as an artist since this is genuinely who I am and what I love to do. Now, art is not just "art" for me. Art is a way of life, a form of self-expression, and a perspective. If you stop and think about it, everything is art. Everything is an expression of self, or some kind of personal viewpoint. Art is life. |

| The recollective powers of maps have always intrigued me and have remained somewhat of an obsession. In most of my recent work I've been exploring what is behind and in between maps of my hometown (recent and historical maps). What I found were intangible links to line, color, emotion, memory.
I grew up in New Orleans, a city that sits at the mouth of the largest river system in North America. Consequently, it's a place shaped by flow, drainage, sedimentation and silt, but also by the overlapping histories of different communities, caught between current and tide. I feel this is partially why I'm most interested in questions of layering and the resonances created by the overlapping of images and references.
I received a B.F.A. in painting and drawing from L.S.U. in 1986 and now live in New Haven, Connecticut. Some of my work may be seen online at the following urls: http://www.rhizome.org, http://www.artedigital6.cubasi.cu and www.colleentully.com
I am a member of ALL (Arts + Literature Laboratory) Gallery in New Haven, CT and the founder of Pixel Pops!, a wandering, international juried exhibition of digital art (b. 2004) - see http://www.poppingpixels.org.

| I am a surreal artist and oil painter with an interest in just about any other art genre. Currently I am teaching a very small art class at a two-year college while working on my teaching degree.
Other interests include; Dark Art, Photography, Pencil, Graphite, Acrylic painting, some ceramic sculpture, colored pencils, pen and ink, some photomanipulation, found objects.
Generally, I am a very happy and agreeable person. Creating art and watching others do so is what gives me inspiration. My dreams and my random thoughts supply the details with which I color and populate my artwork. Nothing in life is more important than family, friends and creating art. |

| BIOGRAPHY: |
| Wisconsin-based American fine artist Marie Scotts large-format oil paintings and limited-edition prints are intended to convey a sense of color, light, contrast, & beauty as she strives to capture an ordinary scene or object in a fresh way. She paints the things she sees and experiences that make her smile youll notice that there are only sunny blue skies, abundant fields, and tranquil bodies of water in her landscapes. Her brightly colored abstracts are filled with movement, yet they still manage to convey the sense of peace shes found through her faith.

Marie Scott graduated from Grace College in 1992 with a B.S. degree, having earned a double-major in Graphic Design and Communications. Although an artist at heart since 1st-grade art class, upon college graduation she entered the field of graphic design in order to practically support herself. This vocational choice, which eventually led to the co-founding and running of a successful graphic arts and design firm for many years, has proven to have been an excellent training-ground for her career as a professional artist.

The opening of marie scott studios in 2001 was the natural next-step for Scott, as creating and spreading beauty has always been a passion of hers. Marie is now able to use the combination of both her experience as a graphic designer, and her fine-arts training in order to communicate through the medium of oil paints on canvas. Her contemporary fine artworks can be loosely divided into three general categories which she calls landscape, abstract, and personality paintings. These original paintings and fine art prints are suitable for corporate collections, book jackets, hotels, restaurants, museums and art galleries.

The pear in Marie Scotts logo represents her desire to lead a deliberately fruitful life. It also represents the integral part her husband plays in both her personal life and her Art as he is undoubtedly her perfect pair, and her (much) better half.

A resident of Bay View, WI (Milwaukees hottest new artistic community) since 1994, Scotts painting studio overlooks the visually-inspiring Humboldt Park. You can visit www.mariescottstudios.com to read the stories behind the paintings, to commission your own piece, or to purchase her large-format original oil paintings and limited-edition prints.

One of the top new artists arriving on the American art scene, Maries original fine art paintings, giclee prints and stock images are all available directly from the artist. Please click Contact Info (top right of this page) for the details to get in touch with marie scott studios.

Artist Statement

My long-term goal is to find my work appearing in unexpected places. I have decided that I am not painting for the Avant Garde, but rather the common man who simply enjoys pretty things. I want my work to be attainable to all who appreciate art. So for example, if I were to walk into a hotel lobby and see a print of my painting tastefully displayed, it would bring me great pleasure to know that hundreds of people each day were seeing my work and (hopefully) enjoying it.

The idea of a fruitful life is completely related to my faith. It is a life-long process that takes daily work, and a conscious effort to live my life in a way that reflects the characteristics of Christ. But it's not something I can do on my own. As Jesus said in the book of John 15:5, 8..."I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing...This is to my father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."

I want my artwork to communicate a sense of serenity, warmth, and optimism. My goal as an artist is to spread beauty into the lives and homes of those who dont mind looking at the world through my eyes. Whether its a brilliant red maple leaf waving in the breeze, or a cliffside view of a sparkling coastline, my paintings should cause people to feel as if time has stopped in the midst of a near perfect day. |

|
|
| BIOGRAPHY: |
| Catherine McCormack-Skiba was born in New York City and was raised in Vermont. She resides in New York City and paints throughout Europe, North America and the Middle East. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Rhode Island School of Design.
For the past several years, Catherine has been working on studies throughout the globe focused on the diverse and interesting landscape, culture and people. An impressionist painter focused on oil and canvas work, she often integrates water color images into her repertoire particularly when traveling to far-away places. Catherine's travels have taken her to the far corners of the earth including the United States, Great Britain, France, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, South Africa, Italy, Ireland, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore.
Catherine's ability to capture the essence of the culture, the people, the energy and the visuals into a comprehensive image is unique. Being gifted with a remarkable sensitivity, she is able to absorb the diversity of life into a rich image. Catherine proves to be equally comfortable capturing Bedouin life in the Sinai desert as she is a meadow vista in Ireland.
Catherine's paintings manage to extrapolate from reality to a feeling that is part of humanness. According to Catherine "Emotions are an important part for everyone that reaches an inner need in everyone to feel. Like a good meal that nurtures the soul, everyone enjoys the gratification of their emotions in a strengthening and uplifting way". Catherine Skiba's use of vibrant colors and rich subjects combined with her artistic talents to capture reality in an abstract form make her painting unique. More than a mere execution of the image in front of her, Catherine can create an atmosphere involving elements of life evoking a mood that feels more real than life on its own.
Catherine has been a classroom art teacher in numerous schools in California. She is a mother of 3 and lives in London. She is a gourmet cook and author of numerous world-class recipes. Her other personal interests include homeopathy, horseback riding, skiing, and sports car driving.

|
|
| BIOGRAPHY: |
| Kristen Henderson’s initial fine art studies were under the direction of Taro Yamamoto, a descendant of the Hans Hoffman School of painting, in Eastham, Massachusetts. She went on to pursue art more formally at Sarah Lawrence College where she studied painting and sculpture. Kristen’s photography is derived from a desire to find and capture the meditative, dream-like experience in color, light and form. Her subject matter can be simple, sudden, inanimate, natural, industrial, or classic, but the intent is not so much commentary as it is to create a place for the viewer to draw wholly subjective inferences. In addition, Kristen received an MFA in creative writing from the University of Arizona, and has had poems published in numerous literary journals throughout the country, inlcuding Passages North, Birmingham Review, Clackamas Review, Bloom and others. Kristen also completed her master's degree in social work at SUNY ALbany in May, 2008. |

| Art for me is a release of energy, manifesting
into a vision that I have and wish to allow
other poeple to see. It almost as it becomes a
window into a parallel dimension or universe
in my life.
It is spontaneous at times, and conceptual at
others.
Organic at most times always attempting to
make a connection into an ethereal spirituality.
This is my ultimate goal, to find myself
spiritually through my art; and simultaniously
invite others to find a greater meaning in art,
other than the aestetic value of it.
Some of my interests range from printmaking
to sculpture. Some processes I use include
etching, imageon, monoprint, painting, paper
crafting and clay. Limiting my range of
possibilities would only result in less
experimentation and fun.
My work can be charachterized by flowing
biomorphic figures and scenes that incorporate
the feelings of music, culture and spirit.
Others contemplate the depth of these flowing
forms and find connections to biology,
physiology and landscape.
SOme of my stornger influences are
inspirational books, poems, and among the
strongest influences are my classmates and
co-workers, as they are the ones that get to
know me as an artist and a person. They walk
by my side experiencing the learning
processes of art.

About Dan Zinno
Dan Zinno, originally from New England, now works out of his home studio in Georgetown, TX. His work has been described as ugly and brutal but this does not dissuade the artist. Zinnos work is fueled as he pushes the viewers comfort zone to a place where they are forced to view the image free from personal and social preconceptions.
Zinnos work has been shown in Boston, Colorado, and several venues in the Los Angeles area including the Sam Francis Gallery in Santa Monica, CA where he showed two new pieces in an exhibition that closed in March. The artist is currently preparing for an art auction at the LA Art Exchange in Santa Monica, CA later this month and also a solo exhibition in Indiana scheduled for November. Zinnos work has been well received and collected by art professionals and laymen alike from all parts of the country.
