| I'm an Acajun Iroquois-Algonquin multi-media artist. My mediums are visual arts, music, and lyric-poetry. I was born in Canada, but was raised and lived in the U.S. for most of my life in between N.Y.C. and Boston. I was a professional creative artist musician for 20 yrs. and traveled most of the U.S.. My work scanned the range between live performances to studio work! And from totally original multi-media acts to Las Vegas shows. I've worked with some of the best in the business and was a main creative force in the multi-media shows. I'm mostly self-taught, but have studied with Joe Pocaro, head percussionist for the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, set-drummer for Frank Sinatra, and studio percussionist for many top T.V. shows like Baretta, Six-million dollar man and Miami Vice. I've also studied Computer Operations and Liberal Arts in college. Most of my present works are done solely on computer! All the bacrkound music is my own works! And all and all, it does'nt matter what I've done or who I am, I feel I'm just a humble channel for a higher source! For my work comes at it's own time, and only when I lose myself! |

 |
| BIOGRAPHY: |
| Christopher Morrison was born on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, living his childhood in the highly artistic town of Ocean Springs. After several abrupt moves throughout the Southeast (from the frigid Appalachians to the humid cypress bayou in one year!), he returned to his native O.S., with a new-found desire to paint. Mesmerized by the masters such as Walter Inglis Anderson, George E. Ohr, and Edvard Munch, he recieved a fulfilling secondary education in several mediums in art from one amazing Rhonda Iris Richmond. Never going on to college, he instead kept painting. And painting.
Soon after all the pine trees on the Coast were painted, it was time to move. Always his favorite, New Orleans was the only real choice. From the Faubourg Marigny, the Quarter to Lee Circle, Chris has lived in characteristically peculiar dwellings (ask). Finding love and settling in the Garden District, Chris paints, lives and plays with his kitties in his studio above Poet's, on Magazine Street. |

| Making art was my first interest as a child, later expanding into other forms of expression such as music and sound, film and video, commercial art, and mechanical engineering (which is really commercial sculpture). My past art experience includes drawing, pastel, oil painting, water color, stone lithography, silk screen, stained glass, and architecture.
I have an oil painting in the Ben and Abby Weed Grey Foundation collection in the Grey Art Gallery at NYU. I also have a US patent #4,884,792 of a cam operated clamp. I love color and light (even the lights of Las Vegas and, of course, the red rocks of Sedona). I have always felt limited by the range of colors available to the artist. Maybe that is why I have gone into other areas of creativity. My "day job" for most of my life has been as a packaging designer and mechanical engineer / machine designer. A partnership for the last few years between myself and Farrah Reizana is The FaRo, doing a number of entertainment and business related services. |

| BIOGRAPHY: |
| Born in Toronto Canada 1951
At an early age, I remember drawing stick figures of women throughout the pages of my mother's Cosmology textbooks and magazines. During the '60s, I worked part time at my uncle's shoe store, and I discovered that my fascination with the "shoe" would remain a signature to my style. The architectural elements, textures and symbolism of the shoe would be repeated again and again throughout my career. I began my first acrylic paintings in my parent's basement. Umbrellas, exaggerated female figures, outlandish costuming, hats, and surreal space age 'Alice in Wonderland' landscapes clashing with "The Girl from Ipanema" themes, came naturally to me. I was introduced to the world of Hollywood MGM technicolor movie musicals of the 1940s and 50s . These, combined with my infatuation with nostalgia, Art Deco memorabilia, vintage posters, and Haute Couture Parisian fashion, found its way into my creative imagination . And during my four years at the Ontario College of Art 1970-1974 I studied the fundamentals of art and art history, and fashion illustration, which reinforced me as an artist.
At the height of the Disco Era, I relocated to New York City, circa 1978 and embarked on a commercial art career in Manhattan, where I created album cover artwork for CBS International Records, GRP, and Arista Records labels. My painting "La Mode" made its way onto the set of the motion picture "Tootsie" in 1981. For the non for profit organization, DIFfA, the Design Industries Foundation Fights Aids, I created the commemmorative poster and Absolute Vodka advertisement which was held and showcased at the New York State Theatre. Other posters and illustration clients included the Ann Taylor shopping bag, the Pierre Cardin Shopping Bag, Hyperion Books, The Art of Mickey Mouse, "Brazilian Follies" the theme of my 1991 calendar published by Landmark, and the United States Ballroom Championships poster. During the late 80s, I flew to Yokahama Japan to work on a mural for the Caribbean restaurant 'Las Paras'. Other mural commissions included Zanzibar Nightclub, Indies, the Touche Nightclub chain, and the Holiday Inn Ballroom in Mt. Kisco New York. I left New York in 1996, and upon my arrival to Miami Beach in June of 1997, I began a love affair with the nostalgia, history and tropical fauna of Miami Beach. The turquoise color of the Atlantic Ocean, and the Art Deco Architecture together with the tropical rhythm, sights and sounds of Latin music everywhere, were responsible for the look of my new work, thus coining the phrase "Latin Deco", describing the style of my art. These new works had more of a softer sophistication to them, unlike my '70s/'80s paintings. The themes surrounding my new "Cirque-du-Samba" paintings included the Copacabana, ballroom dancing i.e. tango, cha-cha, mambo Swing and jive. I also introduced a series of geometric works on canvas that resembled oversized backgammon-like board games and surreal architectural paintings of halls and ladders, influenced by Art Deco architecture of the Mimo period of Miami Beach of the 1950s. In 2002, Art in Public Places created "Flamingos On the Beach" a city-wide showcase of 8 foot high fiberglass flamingos. I created 10 of them, for Hotels and private residences throughout the city. In 2004, I created the commemorative poster for the Miami Beach Festival of the Arts. And in 2003, Nescafe Coffee Canada commissioned a National ad campain for the Brazilian Brand coffee, that was featured on subways, billboards, and magazine advertising throughout Canada. I continue to reinvent myself into the first decade of the twenty-first century. |

| I have always found a great connection with the things I saw in the people
around me. When I moved to the city in 1995, this connection was taken to
another level. I was constantly moved by what I saw in people. It was overwhelming....
it haunted me. There were realities in the faces here that I had not encountered
before... at least not to this extent. I was inspired and would spend hours riding
the trains just watching people. I found and continue to find infinite interest in
what can be found in the faces of those that surround me. The sag of an eye,
the bend of a back, the weathered state of a pair of hands - all tell a story.
First and foremost I'm a painter - even though I've had very little formal
training in painting specifically - it was just a natural progression...
everything I'd studied about the history of art, about design, photography,
about drawing and sculpture had lead me to painting. It has become my
passion. My escape. My release.
When I picked up the brush for the first time, I lost myself completely in
the process. I "came to" about 4 hours later and knew that on a certain
level, I'd always been a painter. It was like coming home, even though home
in this case was a place I had never really stayed for any length of timeÃÆÃâÃââÃÆââââ¬Ã
¡ÃâìÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâæ until now.

 |
| BIOGRAPHY: |
| Jacquelyn C. Bond has always been an artist. Like many who grew up with adversity and neglect, she found early solace in expression. The fantasy of her subjects provided escape and release. As she grew and matured, so did her art. Finding herself in the subculture of the West Coast punk rock scene of the late 80’s and early 90’s, her work began to take the shape of the popular iconography indicative of her place and time. The sudden upsurge of the popularity of tattooing and the West’s discovery of Japanese Anime, as well as the rebirth of the pin-up began to appear in her work creating a recognizable yet distinctive style all her own.
As her work evolved, it seemed always to be steps ahead of popular culture. She moved through Tiki inspired imagery and lounge, employing a modern take on the “retro” images that began to reappear and manifest themselves in a more simple, fun-oriented manner.
When the twenty first century began, her work again took a dramatic turn from the simplicity of it’s prior self to a busy, dramatic narrative, with sometimes disturbing, always provocative imagery that overtly confronts issues such as politics, sex, marriage, and prosperity.
Despite the gamut of her work, it is always sensual and richly textured with colors, shapes and content, guaranteed to stimulate any viewer.
Currently, her education continues while she explores new styles and mediums, honing her technique and discovering seemingly limitless range. Where she goes next is unsure. Being driven by her feelings, inspiration, and a glimpse of something just out of sight, could take her anywhere.

| Warren Hicks |
| myartspace id:anidim |
|
 |
| BIOGRAPHY: |
| Warren Hicks has arrived at a life devoted to art in a circuitous manner. His training in architectural drafting and his experience in the music industry fold neatly into his work, each former career path creating an impression evident in his current progress.
Having discarded an unsatisfying career to seek more fulfilling sustenance, Hicks has supported himself through his painting since he made that momentous decision six years ago. His artistic evolution has been as unique as his personal revolution. He has morphed through a progression of styles and influences - embracing, digesting, and discarding - always in search of the next challenge. It seems he never stands still. Witty titles that often employ wordplay suggest an art that winks at the peccadilloes of everyday life.
At present, he has abandoned brushes in favor of creating a colored background made of pigments rubbed in with his fingers. The resulting surface leaves a patina that lies close to the paper, subtly marbled. Over this background, he has been drawing Miro-esque arabesques of fine black-inked lines with rapidograph pen, a topography that darts and travels, punctuated by biomorphic forms falling into place like the rhythmic pulsing of lines of music.
Hicks loves color, but does not get trapped by the blazing, obvious colors of the primaries. His work shows exploration into secondary shades of oranges, greens, reds. The resonance of sylvan greens and shadowy purples hold a special fascination for him.
His latest works treat the picture plane like a wall into which random windows have been carved to reveal hidden cityscapes, conjuring Piranesi or Escher, if they had been cubists.
This seemingly random hybridization of styles could go on productively for quite some time, it appears. Kandinsky, Arp, Miro, Braque, Klee - pureed in Hicks' aesthetic, eclectic blender only to come out as - well - a Hicks original.

| "The power of a photograph is in its ability to make you see the world in a different light"
I was born and raised part of my life in Middlesboro, KY; a very small town with a lot unique history. When I was 10, my family packed up and headed for an adventure down in Southwest Florida. The new environment allowed me to experience new things in nature. I explored the Everglades and the Florida Keys and experienced the beach for the first time.
I took my first and only photography class when I was 16. At the time I based my decision on the fact that for one hour a day I got to roam the halls of my high school and take photographs. Little did I know how much one class would inspire me to pursue such a beautiful art. When I first looked through the viewfinder of my Canon manual camera I saw a new world. We only shot in black and white film which forced me to envision my subject in black and white and not rely on the color I saw with my eyes. My darkroom experience only heightened my excitement of photography. I could manipulate my photos with burning techniques, filters, and developing techniques.
Ten years later, here I am still pursuing my dream and passion. I strive to capture something in nature that is awe-inspiring and hopefully my photographs cause the viewer to really appreciate the uniqueness and mysteries of the world around us.

| Ted is a native Hoosier: born and raised in Indiana, he attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Ill and the Art Institue of Ft. Lauderdale Fl. in the 1970's. His artwork has grown from traditional watercolor to dreamlike surrealism, taking on a differnt adventure and energy to each viewer. What one might see as death in a painting has been seen as birth to another. His studies have included Metaphysics, Native American traditions,Holistic Health and earned his degree in Naturology from the American Institute of Holistic Theology. Asked about his work, Ted replies, "I basically put down on paper what everyone has felt at one time or another, good or bad."
Ted has worked as a graphic designer and in the screen printing industry for over 20 years, but drawing and painting is his true love. After living many years with and overcoming clinical depression he learned how to express himself through his art, painting what he was truely feeling inside, taking life's ups and downs and re-creating them on paper for the world to see. Using vivid colors and symbols he captures the pains and joys of daily lives. Today he is still a painter, father, husband and mental health advocate educating the public about depression, mood disorders and teaching that there IS life after depression.
"After you have faced death more than once, life seems rather silly." Ted Gillespie |
