| STATEMENT |
|
|
My current art practice encompasses video, installation, collage, text, and photography, resulting in mostly ephemeral, experiential artworks in which audience participation is encouraged.
My artworks are a reflection on the human condition exposing raw human emotions and internal worlds. Through the use of video and installation I aim to tell stories in my works and invite the audience into another’s personal space and thoughts.
Through surreal and fantasy elements my artworks aim to achieve something seemingly impossible within the realms of reality. Reflectioning upon contemporary society and generation Y culture my works are an escape from ‘reality’ and express a longing for something greater.

Bonnie Lane is an emerging Video/Installation artist from Melbourne, Australia, currently living in Berlin, Germany.
Lane completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at Victorian College of the Arts in 2007 and has since been highly active in exhibiting in solo and group exhibitions throughout Australia and abroad in various artist run spaces, public galleries and alternative sites for exhibition.
Lane has been awarded many prestigious awards in recent years including The 2008 Moreland Sculpture Show Award for Ephemeral Art, the National Gallery Women’s Association Undergraduate Award at the VCA School of art Graduate Show 2007, and the 2006 Melbourne Fringe Festival Award for Visual Arts for group exhibition “PARKED!!” 2007. Lane was also a finalist in the Wallara Traveling Scholarship Exhibition 2007 the 2009 “Churchie Award” for emerging artists in Brisbane.
In 2009, Lane was exhibited at the NEXT Art Fair: The Invitational Exhibition of Emerging Art, Chicago, USA and exhibited in 40 trains across Melbourne as part of the Moving Galleries project.
Lane will also be exhibiting in group-show Interiors curated by Simon Gregg at Anna Pappas Gallery, Melbourne in November 2009.
Lane is currently one of the directors of 91mq Project Space in Berlin.
