ART COMPETITION DEADLINE: November 15th 2009
British Women Artists are delighted to give you the opportunity to enter this art competition which as well as giving you the chance to win £300, will get your work viewed by a few professional curators and critics who in choosing 3 favourite art works before deciding upon a winner will debate and discuss your work.
What you need to do
- Be a member of the website www.Britishwomenartists.com select an artwork uploaded onto this site of any medium and your close ups will be included
- Pay £5 which will go toward the prize money and the organisation of an exhibition for the future.
- Write a short description about your work, the materials that you used and why you did it in 300 words or less.
Judges
- Tony Pontone Managing Director Of Albemarle Gallery Located in London’s West End, Mayfair, the Albemarle is considered to be one of the best small galleries in London. It has a tradition of supporting controversial artists from a diverse range of backgrounds and styles.
- Edward Lucy Smith, British writer, poet, art critic, curator, broadcaster and author of numerous books including Sexuality in Western Art, Symbolist Art, Movements in Art Since 1945 and numerous others.
- Amanda Rigler, curator of The New Hall Collection, this unusual collection contains nearly 350 contemporary works by distinguished women including Maggi Hambling, Barbara Hepworth and Paula Rego.
