Pollution & Purity Paintings addressing the problems and encouraging education, awareness and constructive action to our current environmental condition.
I believe that it is an artist?s responsibility to address our present day issues, bring them to the attention of people and encourage people to educate themselves and be involved in the healing process. These paintings are some of the artwork that was part of an exhibition called Pollution & Purity (Addressing Manmade Deconstruction of our Environmental Vitality) done in collaboration with Courtney Smith & Leah Verier-Dunn, choreographer/dancers of the Moving Ethos Dance Company. We came about this project in the hopes of bringing awareness to our current environmental condition and to light a spark that encourages people to take action towards the greater good. We must take responsibility for the choices we make that affect the environment, and ultimately our lives, so that we can recognize the change that needs to occur. These paintings illustrate my interpretations of pollution, the affects of pollution on our environment and wild life and the appreciation of the natural beauty and vitality of our environment. If my work is chosen I would want to include a video of the dance to complete the collaboration. Thank you for taking the time to look at my work.
