| This was my first sculpture that took a tremendously long time to figure out how to do it. The sculpture is done on a surf board with tins (cans) and various types of plastic containers and objects plus some beer bottles. |
 |
| This sculpture was done for a collaborative project with Courtney Smith, Choreographer/Dancer called Pollution and Purity which is to be seen on November 1 and 2, 2008. It is one of 2 sculptures that I am doing, this one is to float in the pool and the other one is to stand on the pool deck. I have also done a mat representing pollution and purity for the dancers to dance on, plus I painted their shirts for their costumes, 1 for water, 1 for sky, 1 for earth and 2 for pollution and purity. I also painted 4 mirrors which the dancers will dance with, for water, sky, earth and pollution and purity. I also did 4 pieces with black garbage bags that will be on the floor. I have painted paintings dedicated to this project which will be shown inside my studio. The dance will take place outside my studio on the pool deck on one side of the pool the audience will be seated the other side of the pool.
This collaboration between visual art and dance addresses the issues of polluting our environment, the impact it has on life and what we can do to help save the beauty around us. We must recognize the damage that has occurred in order to prevent further destruction. This gallery viewing and site specific dance performance is aimed at bringing awareness and constructive action to our current environmental condition. |

| This sculpture was made to float and reminds us how we need to be responsible and get rid of our garbage in the correct way which preserves our earth, sky and sea. |

Deatils of description :This sculpture was done for Pollution and Purity project collaboration with Choreographer/Dancer Courtney Smith. The idea is to bring to people's attention how we throw waste in our seas, on our earth and pollute with the skies. I named this piece Pollution Recycled to make people think about not discarding garbage anywhere but being responsible and caring and allowing our plastics, cans and papers to be recycled. |
