| The reason for this gallery is to bring to everyone's attention our poor pets. Remember that pets are completely helpless to do anything about their lives without us unlike us humans who can work to improve our lives. I understand that many people are going through economic hell and therefore have to give up their pets and I would beg of those interested in acquiring a pet to consider going to the Humane Society where they are overloaded with animals. Obviously the Humane Society don't have sufficient funds to feed the animals their normal quantities but keep those alive that they can, and remember many of those not adopted but perfectly loving and healthy pets have to be put down because there is not enough space or funds to keep them alive. Please remember that pets are not furniture to just give away for no reason, they require love, attention, training and nutrition, and they require a great deal of work and give so much in return.
My daughter, Kristina and her husband, Reggie adopted Zico who was only being fed 2 cups a day, obviously because the Humane Society did not have sufficient funds to give him the 4 cups required a day. He was lucky he was only in the Humane Society for about 3 weeks. It is a very stressful time for a pet, they have no idea where their family is, why they are in this strange place locked up with people coming to stare at them constantly. These pets desperately need homes, the Humane Society does the best it can, but it can never compare to a loving family home. Zico is evidently grateful for his adoption and has bonded easily and as you will see through my photos has adopted his extended family with my husband and our dog, our other children and their other halves. Kristina and Reggie had 2 cats and a hamster before Zico and he fitted in happily with them as well.
If you are able to please help these animals in any way you can, the abandoned pets are in this situation through no fault of their own.

Deatils of description :With the dire state of today?s economy the Humane Society is receiving more pets than it ever has with fewer funds than it ever has had. Please be aware that pets are a part of the family, they have feelings and need to be looked after, and they are not a piece of furniture to be thrown out or given away at whim. I realize how hard it is for many people who have lost their homes, jobs, and are trying to feed, clothe, and take care of themselves and their children, in which case they have to find a home for their pets and this is stressful for both the owners and the pets. So for those considering acquiring a pet please consider adopting a needy animal who is under great stress, not understanding where they are or why they are there and yearning for their family. Through lack of funds the Humane Society tries to keep and maintain as many of the animals as they can, therefore feeding them a little less than required, but at least keeping them healthy and alive. Also please be aware that many animals have to be euthanized because of lack of space, food, medication and the required necessities to keep the animals alive. It is a hard thing for those people who have to make the choice of which animal has to go and there are surely people who can alleviate this problem somewhat, please consider what you can do to help. |
