| I spend most of my freetime making. I find freedom from the day-to-day routine in the immediacy of making my own clothing, making pattern, making and binding books, making dinner, and just being involved with my hands. For me, this process of making is innate, and without it, I don't think that I would have a complete understanding of my soul. When I'm not making, you can find me walking with my dog Olive, camping, rummaging for used treasures, or porch sitting with a cup of coffee. As an artist, I want to keep learning, keep finding inspiration, and never become complacent in my work. I want to continue in developing this personal language that communicates to others. Each design helps to inform the next, and keeps me coming back and actively involved in this continuous cycle of creating. I strive to bring the lovely flaws of the human hand into a new light. Most of all, through my work, I want to take care of my soul, and not lose my sense self. |
