I am an interdisciplinary visual artist - specializing in Textile/Fibre Artist & Wearable Art making, Environmental Art and Wildlife Costume Designing and Project Management.
Most of my artworks are influence and inspired by the beauty of our surroundings, and its diverse ecosystems; and major events that happened to my life especially my involvement with various environmental groups and NGO's. The association of these qualities and their evocation envelopes every inch of my artwork are directly linked to traditional knowledge of weaving that has been passed on by our elders.
Each element evokes a metaphor as a woven image using threads, paints and fabrics to create an astonishing palette of colours and textured surfaces. Rhythmic stitches have produced an integrated figurative form of images and well blended colours which intertwine with knowledge and story to tell a deeper story. My artworks illuminate processes that are inherently multidimensional, creative, interactive and dynamic.
Each galleries showcases an interdisciplinary artworks. I hope through my works, viewers will be influence that art is not just about painting beautiful scenery's but it can be used as a catalyst for community based projects. My vast knowledge in visual arts and project management, it means that it allows me to work closely and collaboratively with the Indigenous community who lives in the remote and regional areas in Australia.
