| Wow Mary! Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment about my work. I absolutely love the sky-dominated images in your paintings. They really capture what I love about the western sky - that immense abstract vast and distant horizon. I know that it is very hard to capture that feeling that you get when you are actually there, but you have done it. Something inbetween a Hank Williams lonesome and Jon Hassel magic realism. I also love your choice of the panorama aspect ratios in some of your paintings. Best wishes for artistic and commercial success! Doug |

Thanks so much for the kind note, I really appreciate it! You know, I didn't expect anything from the NYC competition thingy; I mostly submitted because a friend of mine is one of the founding members of myartspace, and I wanted to support what all they're doing. So it was a surprise to get into the top 50 (especially with older work! I'm mostly doing video now). I took a look at your site, the paintings are lovely. Are you in California? I was just there for two weeks, staying in a cottage in Altadena, along the Arroyo area. Really beautiful there. Anyway, thanks for the note and keep in touch!
