| Rebecca Rome is a photographer and visual artist whose work centers around startlingly honest and autobiographical self portraits, as well as her undeniable mastery of Pinhole and Polaroid based techniques. Rebecca's unique artistic vision is the result of a lifetime of exploring identity, the subconscious and the internal self, as well as an intense connection and dedication to nature and landscape. She has lived, worked and photographed in settings as varied as New England, California, Hawaii, Nova Scotia, and New Zealand and has spent significant time living and working in rural, rustic and dilapidated environments Her great love of the ocean is omnipresent, and while not necessarily featured in every image, the sea is unquestionably never far away. Since high school, Rebecca has worked from coast to coast as a photographer and model. She served as a teaching assistant at the Maine Photographic Workshops, a school from which she received a professional certificate in photography. Rebecca has also presented her work and lectured to a graduate level university class at Academy of Art University in San Francisco where she began her serious photographic studies. Rebecca’s exhibitions include a current show at Rayko Photo Center in San Francisco and an an upcoming show at Rebecca Kormind Gallery in Copenhagen, Denmark. |
