Quick Description: This is my entry for the Bridge Art Fair competition.

The installation is flexible in size and scope according the architecture of the exhibition space. The works in the Text as Material portfolio are individual works (although in some cases part of a larger series. These works may need to be framed prior to exhibition.

Kanji Drawing #3
The Kanji drawings seek to combine my interest in oriental calligraphy with conceptual and minimalist uses of text. The words are mapped onto the sheet of paper as a building material. The actual words are "written" backwards and subjected layering and erasure common to my working process in all media so that the text has a chance to be seen as a visual element, rather than merely read.
Dimensions: 24 5/8" x 39"; Medium: mixed media on japanese paper.
