Your work is wonderful! It makes me smile, it makes me laugh, it makes me look over my shoulder, it makes me worried, makes me feel a lot of things and I love it.

Love the way you handle paint. I see some Lucien Freud as well as Francis Bacon influences in your potrayal of flesh but you seem to have your own twist showing the dissolution and perhaps rot in average people in ordinary circumstances.
4.26.2009
I like The Hollow Men and the Marginal Men.
4.22.2009

Hey Brother Rees, Cheers! Had my head down last couple weeks making rent and working on a new series of small paintings. Will have them up once they dry, could be a while, they're a bit thick, like me. Thanks for the positives! Show me some new stuff when you got it.

10.17.2007
Beautiful...great textural surface quality and color/content/compositional choices. Such emotional weight to your work! These make my palms sweat.
10.16.2007
Scott, thank you for your kind words, I appreciate them coming from a fellow painter like yourself. I toured your galleries and was especially drawn to "Dining Room", "Deposition", "Here There Be Monsters", and "Yellow House" - all very interesting paintings. Bacon isn´t the worst influence one can have, and he certainly gave you an eye-opener which ended your respectable career. Well done! Oh, and I am flattered that you mention Balthus. All the best, Søren.
10.14.2007
I definitely see the Bacon influence ascension Need and Horses Mouth are favorites. Looking forward to seeing more. Mic
