Vasily Kafanov
Vasily Kafanov was born in Moscow, Russia in 1952. He earned a masters degree in art.  Over the past ten years of Kafanov's life in the US, his work has been exhibited by various art galleries and museums in Chicago, San Francisco, Hong Kong, France and Holland. He has had numerous one-man shows in the distinguished galleries of New York City. Kafanov's paintings hang in the Zimmerli Museum at Rutgers University and the Beaulieu Museum in France and in numerous private collections. To read an interview with him, click here.

Laura Splan
Laura Splan is a mixed media artist based in New York City. She holds a BFA from the University of California, Irvine and an MFA in Sculpture from Mills College in Oakland, CA. Her work has been exhibited at numerous venues including San Francisco MOMA Artist's Gallery, San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art, San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery, Los Angeles Center For Digital Art, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Santa Rosa, CA . She has also shown at Nexus Gallery (Philadelphia, PA), Delta Axis Gallery (Memphis, TN), Arthouse (Austin, TX), and the Art & Culture Center Of Hollywood (Hollywood, FL,.  You can read her myartspace interview by clicking here.

Reinhardt Sobye
Reinhardt is an interesting artist from Norway.

Carrie Anne Baade
The edgy and intellectual paintings of Carrie Ann Baade are quickly gaining recognition across the United States and abroad. Dubbed “Imaginative Realism,” these paintings are cut from the pages of art history and layered into a trompe l'oeil surrealism. Often traveling around the globe in search of forgotten paintings to quote and interpret, her works manifest into an entirely original vision rich with humor. Carrie is a PROFESSOR of painting and drawing at FSU in Tallahassee. You can read her myartspace interview by clicking here .

Marcus Antonius Jansen
Jansen was born 1968 in New York City. A former Non Commissioned Officer in the US Armed Forces discharged in 1997 to become a professional working artist/painter. Mr. Jansen has since emerged as the innovator of Modern Urban-Expressionism.  Jansen has worked on his recent book project with the "Father" of Digital Art Laurence Gartel and (MOMA's) former "Rockefeller Fellow" Jerome Allan Donson and others. Jansens work is in international collections, private as well as Museums, such as the Smithsonian. In 2005, renowned art connoisseur and Curator of the 1968, "des illuminations de Noël" at de l'avenue des Champs-Elysées Jean Marc Alphan helped established the first soley committed Jansen Gallery in le Marais Paris France, the American Art Gallery.  To read a myartspace interview with Marcus, click here.

A few messages to the myartspace community:
- The first deadline for early registration for the New York, New York Competition 2007 is June 30th. Submission fees go up after that. Save money by registering early. For more details, click here.
- We've added the new login/welcome page for artists.  This page comes up once you have logged into myartspace and it brings together your messages, network, network invitations and more.
- Adding video to your gallery has been made much easier from the artist welcome/login page.  You simply click on "Attach a video to a gallery".  Currently we support FLV, AVI, WMV, MPG and MP4 videos.  A few galleries that have attached videos include: Mark Enger, Yuliya Lanina, Xanda McCragg, Eve Wakeling, Jonathan McLeod.
- A tour of myartspace has been added. Click here to see the tour.
- We improved the tutorial page substantially. Click here to see view the tutorials.
- Coming in the next week, the ability to attach videos to your Profile Page, which is visible to all.
- Our programmers are fixing some problems we've identified on the site.  They should be rolled into the site on Tuesday.
